And Woody; what the heck is japodog or robodog, or whatever the reference was to in Vancouver? Enquiring minds want to know. Thanks,
Ann

Do I get an award for reading between the lines in the conversation between Jackie & Woody? They will be having this in Vancouver & it is Japadog - dog being the operative word? HOT DOGs! a la Japanese style

Most popular: "Spicy Cheese Terimayo" Teriyaki sauce, Japanese mustard, Seaweed :scared1: on a Jalapeno & Cheese smokie

or "Oroshi" Bratwurst with Grated Radish, Special Soy Sauce, Green Onion

add Edamame, Special Plum Sauce, Bonito Flake, Fried Cabbage... to your choice of dog: Jalapeno & Cheese, Bratwurst, Turkey Smokie, Veggie dog, or Beef Hotdog (Kobe beef coming soon).

Now that is just technical info - Woody or Jackie can tell you the story behind why they are enjoying this together. :goodvibes

My heart is so heavy tonight. Just found out that a friend of my son's (not a close friend but someone he played with on and off and went to school with when in public school) died. He was 11 or 12 and his older sister is also friends with my daughter. Everyone is in shock. He had some type of accident while racing motorcross yesterday - details are sketchy. Give your children an extra hug tonight - you never know what each day brings. My prayers go out to Luke's entire family.

Krisann

This is unbearably sad; always heartbreaking when a child dies but even worse when it's sudden. My heart goes out to the family.

Thank goodness, I'm not the only one who is still struggling with SM gifts.

Actually, the gifts aren't the hard part, but my question for the other couples participating..... Are you giving one gift at a time to the other couple or two, one for each person? I'm thinking a bit of both.

I've had so much fun already, planning SM gifts, prepping FE's, making magnets, reading these boards...definitely need to buckle down and get some more serious stuff done, but it's getting harder to concentrate!

Great to see we have some more europeans joining us. When I told my DD Amelie (2) that there was another Amelie joining us, she looked a little confused. Finally she said 'I'm Amelie, other little girl -Not Amelie'. I told her that 'Not Amelie' was older and had more right to be called that than her. She looked at me and said OK I'm 'Not Amelie' then. Oh the joy of simple thought!!:lovestruc:cutie:

That is really cute!! We put our names on the master list yesterday and had a peek at where people were from and saw your daughters name and thought that was neat. I love seeing where all the people are from. I am originally from Ottawa, Canada (my husband is German and we live in Germany now) and I was getting excited to see that there will be others from Canada there as well!

Also wanted to say thanks for the nice welcome wishes! This forum is becoming very addictive as we love to see what everyone has to say about cruising and what not as this is our first cruise ever. I only hope I can control myself and that we can get our packing done in the next days

Oh, I'm so sorry. That has to be so hard for your kids as well. I just put DS18 on a bus back to Santa Cruz after spring break & I just texted him to make sure he was okay....can't hug, but thanks for the reminder.
:sad1:

Was your son headed for UC-Santa Cruz? My DSL went there for his first two years. I'll have some slug wear in my suitcase--don't leave home without it. Always a great conversation starter.

GO SLUGS!!

We live just outside of Hamburg up in the north of Germany. Great opportunity to see some sites while in Europe. Have fun in Munich, I'm sure it will be beautiful!

Hi everyone, I have been reading posts for several months, but did not post due to a snowblower accident with my hand (not major slipped and it fell on my hand. Thank God every day for rubber blades, still have my fingers). Just wanted to say thank you for all the information and setting my mind at ease for my first transalantic cruise. My daughter and her friend are joining me and we are excited with all the information provided. It is nice to know there will be things I can do without them. I have signed us up on the master list and cannot wait to meet everyone. Just getting my finger strength back through therapy, so I probably will not post much, but I feel like everyone else, this information is priceless and made my trip planning so easy. Looking forward to the 10th!!!

I lived in Argentina for 18 months, in Mendoza, San Juan, and Cordoba. What part is your Dad from?

My parents live in Olivos - in the Provincia de Buenos Aires. About 1/2 hr away from the city center via train.

I had to go look this up too...I'm game :lmao:

Krisann--:hug: for Luke, his family & yours.

I ended up NOT doing my taxes yesterday.....had a thunderstorm & lost power.....so what else could I do but take a NAP??? :lmao: (I love my naps). I do have a pile going of tax stuff.

I did start "planning" my packing in my head....I'm sure I'll overpack as usual.

I have never done a secret mickey... i do not travel enough Disney. We are men... I thought we just get soap on a rope. you mean someone wants to know what we would like?

peace and quiet and a book on the history of Disney

This is all I need also. or maybe a some fishing of the rear of the boat.

Glad you're healing, welcome aboard!

Krisann - our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Unfortunately we never know moment to moment what is going to happen. Like you said give children and grandchildren also an extra hug.

Anyword on the landyards?

For scrapbooking should we bring stuff- although I don't know where I would fit it.

For the person that asked about the SM - I have a couple and some gifts are for both of them and some are one for each.

Well considering I don't drink it would be saying something! Some are trying to pretend I am not going on vacation and not giving me what I need and others are realizing that I am going and are dumping tons of stuff on me to get done. The piles on my desk get larger each day!!!:headache:

Wow, hope they don't push you THAT far, then. No matter, less than 300 hours from now you'll be walking aboard :donald:, and the miles away from the piles will pass under the keel.

Krisann -- I am so sorry to hear this news. I am wishing your family and Luke's peace and comfort.

Dee, RE: Group Photo: I thought the last thing that was said was we would do a group photo either before or after the lunch on the 22nd. Lynne also brought up doing a photo on the first formal night. There were concerns that with such a large group, the logistics of formal night would be difficult. Personally, I vote for an after lunch photo at a specific time on the 22nd.

Gina RE: Dinner at WL - Maybe we will run into each other...not that we would know it. :lmao:

Welcome Spinks and all other newbies! We are going to have a great trip!

My heart is so heavy tonight. Just found out that a friend of my son's . . . died. He was 11 or 12
Sorry to hear the sad news about Luke.

Hugs and prayers to your family and his.

Ann, there's a link in the post. Post.

It's a Vancouver street food, gourmet hot dogs with Japanese toppings.

They are very popular. On TV, there was also a segment on Japadogs during the Winter Olympics.
