This group is limited to 10 cabins. We will still do this even if we do not get 10 cabins. Anyone who missed the other groups, please join us. If anyone is in the other groups and wants to sprinkle a little pixie dust on our last minute group, I doubt anyone would mind surprises :wizard:

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Just had to drop in to ask if any of you guys are posting fron the cruise.
I am so excited for you all. To think we swapped it for a west bound!!

Happy cruising and have fun, cant wait to hear all about it!!:tinker:

I forgot you weren't cruising with us. I was hoping to meet you so I could talk to you about Scotland. Perhaps in the future our paths will cross.

I'm with you. I stick with black and wear different tops usually. My DD threw me a curve by giving me Brown Chicos knit slacks for Christmas to travel in. Now I'm scrambling around looking for brown things to go with them. I also means a extra pair of shoes. You know what will be the first to go if I have a packing problem---everything brown!!!:confused3

I'm in brown and khaki for day....black for night. :)

OK so I forgot to post this yesterday, so you guys get a free day:

LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR STATEROOM TAG (on the Google spreadsheet of wisdom and Cougardom) IS TOMORROW, 3/26!!!!!!

When I first downloaded the Kindle app for my iPhone, I didn't like reading on the small screen. Now and them I would get motion sick while riding the train, but lately that hasn't been a prolem. :confused3 The only thing that bugs me is that Amazon is the keeper of the material. I feel like I am only renting the book.
That's because, technically, you are. There was a whole big deal last year because the publisher of George Orwell's "1984" decided after the fact that they did not, after all, want to make the book available for eReaders. So when people who had bought the book turned on their Kindles, they found the book deleted off their readers, and a refund for the purchase price. Amazon can (and possibly will) delete anything off your reader. Which is why I will never own a Kindle. (I own a Sony eReader. Love it to pieces, and the books on it are MINE!)

I don't know if the same is true for the iPhone, but if it is, you couldn't pay me to use the Kindle app...

Not to start anything (really, please). Thought you might be interested to see that DCL doesn't always give out consistent info (they are just humans; if the Mouse were in charge, well, that might be different). Note that the cancellation fee wording is for a dinner reservation (and this is a brunch one - I'm just saying :rolleyes1)

I am the contact for the Palo Brunch on the MED cruise. Received email confirmation today, with the following.

Palo Policy:
* Age: Guest must be 18 years or older to dine at Palo.
* Dress Code: Cruise casual wear suggested. (emphasis mine)
No shorts, swimwear, tank tops or blue jeans are permitted.
* Cancellation: Cancellation fees - 100% of the Palo Dining Option is applied to the Guests’ folio, when the Guests do not show or have not cancelled by 2:00 PM the night the reservation is confirmed.
* Smoking – is not permitted

They must be having a problem with people not showing up for their reservations. When I was on the Magic in February we got lots, and I mean more than one per reservation, of confirmation calls and reminders from Palo. It wouldn't surprise me if they now have a cancellation fee but they certainly should be letting people know about it.

Question of the Day

I know that this was asked before but we have some new people with us now.

What is the best and worst beverage onboard?

How do I get to the main Plaza in Cadiz from the Port to catch the HOHO bus? Anyone else doing this?

. . . .

Opps! SAME question about Barcelona!

The HOHO in Cadiz is literally steps away from where you get off. There are two different loops -- we did one, and are going to try the other, which has lots of sherry places, this time. We need to find out where the HOHO is in Barcelona as we went to one of the famous markets and the medieval area via public transportation last time (I must note, however, that my husband has a phenomenal sense of direction and was armed with a good map). We were thinking of trying the HOHO in Barcelona this time around. It has to be pretty close, as my mom did it last time and she can't walk far. I'm sure someone anyone has the Barcelona HOHO info -- would also love to know! Really must starting getting my act together, I am usually much more of a planner.

Since I'm a DCL newbie, I don't know the answer to the QOTD, but I can tell you that for me it probably is one of the following:

Best
glass of champagne (we love champagne...people always ask if we are celebrating something.....yes....life)
glass of red wine (haven't met a glass I didn't like)
or any type of chocolately/alchohol goodness

Worst
anything with sloe gin...blech.

I'm welcome to suggestions.

:lovestruc Happy 38th Anniversary to my DW! :lovestruc

:flower3::hug: I Love You! :hug::flower3:

I know that this was asked before but we have some new people with us now.

What is the best and worst beverage onboard?

Okay, I need to answer ONE of these, lol

Best is the specialty coffees (only have a had a couple but they were awesome)....oh and of course the champagne!!

Worst: Regular coffee from room service, coffee station, dining room.

Can't. Do. Instant.
But I will die trying! :rotfl2:

Yep, yep, yep!

And they are not alone in this...just about every cruise line seems to give a different answer for every CM (to use Disney's title)!!!

So I usually try a few different ways to ask a question, and, of course, I always call back AGAIN if I don't get the response I need.
:lmao:

Does anyone know if Disney is offering any tours to the people that will be staying on board for the next cruise? I would love to see more of Barcelona instead of staying on the ship the whole day.

I hope they do!! I remember reading about a wonderful art in the park thing last time & was so jealous!! lol

Maybe they will have some options offered on board??

Tipping in Europe is somewhat different then in the US.
Taxi/Cabs: €1 per bag (not the carry ons) and just make it a nice round amount if the cab meter says for example €23,80 just make it €25. When it's €24,50 just make it €26.
Restaurants: You can tip but it's not like 10 or 20% just make it a round amount again. The same as for a cab.
Excursion: If you want to tip then tip the driver and also the guide.
For the driver around €1 per person is perfect and for the guide €2 per person is good enough.

Don't pay any musicians or statues or artists.
If you pull your wallet to pay them a small amount somebody else will try to grab you wallet.
If you do want to give the artists some small amount just make sure that you have some small change in your pocket.

Hope this helps...

Let me add my thank you, too!!!!

It's great to have a guideline of the norm and what is expected!

:thumbsup2
