Did I miss a posting by new member Spinks1800? Saw the info posted on the Master Spreadsheet.

All those scars are just reminders of the wonders of modern medicine and the resilience of the human body. How many of us would have been dead of our various problems if they had occurred 100 years ago? (you know what I mean - if someone living 100 years ago had the same problem, would they have lived through it - and would probably be dead now)

Trying to wrap up some stuff before we head out to sea.
FYI, in 2007, the time period 1:00-2:00 was very low on DCL activities.

BUNCO

Should hear back from DCL 1-2 weeks before we leave (could be any day now) about which day, time, and place is available for us. I requested an afternoon time.

STATEROOM TOURS

I think Ken disdel will be figuring out the best route to lead us through the varieties of stateroom categories.

The stateroom I am most interested in seeing is a Suite; the offer we have for viewing has the caveat that we do it when the kids aren't napping.

Here are my questions:

- Can we utilize the after-lunch game time for this activity?
- Is this a one-day event or are we trying to set up 2 different days?

PHOTO-OPS

- Anyone ever set up a photo shoot with Shutters photographers?

- Princess Night for a group photo? (Sea Day #1, April 12, formal - as best we know) If they are having cocktails in the atrium at say, 5:15, we would meet at 5:00? (and let Shutters tell us the best place to meet)

- Group photo just before the Group Lunch? (on the last Sea Day - which I think will be in Parrot Cay)

GROUP LUNCH / AWARDS / SECRET MICKEY REVEAL

DCL Functions should be advising us of how to set up arrangement for this (when we find out about BUNCO). We've selected last Sea Day (Thursday, April 22 at noon) as our choice.

PJ Breakfast
Are we doing this? Any interest? Sea Day after Madeira? 9:00 in Luminiere's?

MONTJUIC FOUNTAIN (BARCELONA)

I've been dragging my feet on this because I wouldn't miss Disney Fireworks to see the fountains. So far, I've got nothing because I have a sneaking suspicion we will have Fireworks on Friday. How to know? :confused3

MESSAGE BOARD

The above activities and the Boarding Day room changes should pretty much cover any group-related info we have, right? Do we expect the need to check for messages on a daily/frequent basis? Books, knitting, games are times set up on a casual drop-in basis.

Help please. Anyone who has sailed before and had DIS activities (TA, PC, special itinerary cruises - especially where you didn't know the daily schedule pre-cruise) - did you pick days & times before you left and then change them onboard or did you wait until after seeing the master Navigator on Day 1 and then notify everyone of the selected days & times?

On prior cruises, we did not know the ship's schedule of activities in advance, so we just picked days and times that were subject to change.

We posted the schedule of our planned activities in advance on these boards so people could arrange their own plans for Palo brunch, Palo Tea, the spa, and other activities.

So if we planned something (a Stateroom Tour), and the ship scheduled something (a Ducky Williams presentation) at the same time, we would re-schedule our event.

If you are in the learn-to-knit group, Adrienne and I decided on THIS PATTERN for you to knit. So, go to your favorite craft store (Michael's, Jo-Ann, etc.) and pick up 2 skeins of bulky yarn (weight 5). I'm partial to Paton Tweeds (scroll to the bottom of the screen to see actual colors). You are under no obligation to pick up my favorite or the yarn specified in the pattern. Just make sure the weight is 5 (Bulky). Pick up size 11 needles, as well. Bring these to the ship with the pattern (print out the pattern, please).

Questions? Let me know! :thumbsup2

Lol....why ty!! I'm not only president...I'm also a member!! :lmao:

President!? Not nearly lofty enough. How about Supreme Empress?

I am in awe of you folks.

I remain your humble servant with but two knee surgeries and a few lumpectomies.

Sounds good to meprincess: I may be the first and last time I wear a tiara:rotfl:

Thanks again for the "navigation" of all of this stuff Lynne!:worship::lovestruc
My TA says my "precruise" docs are in but not the docs.... still waiting:rolleyes1

Just got a great deal on WDW All Star Music for the end of the summer...most nights 57 $ per night! Had to have the first day on the last day of the 25/30% sale date...but the rest was just discounted too whooohooo! DS and I have leftover tickets from last year to use up:)

You are absolutely right :thumbsup2 Some us would not have survived and those of us with arthritis or injury would be limping in much pain. :sad2:

Modern medicine has even improved the lives of our pets. My poodle would not have survived past his 9th year of life ... or several other times afterwards ... but he lived for almost 17 years. Just multiply that out in "dog" years!

Group photos of this magnitude are really tricky and the staging can take several minutes. The atrium will be very busy even 15 minutes before the function.

This photo took us awhile to pull off. We picked a time where there was a long lull in activity.

Photos of large groups (more than 10) are impossible to pull off inside a place like Parrot Cay. The low ceilings "eat" the light and you only see the first row of people. You need a place that has steps to stagger everyone. The two places we have used have been the atrium and the Goofy pool stage. The Goofy pool setting gives you the best possible lighting (the sun) for photographs. In my pirate photo in the previous post it would have been very helpful if I had two banks of lights (flash) to fill in the shadows.

Good morning everyone! :surfweb:

:banana:Only 17 days 'til we sail!

I have a question about clothing - Do people wear a lot of Disney gear onboard? I have a fair amount of Disney t-shirts and was wondering if I should bring a few....:upsidedow

Yes - DISNEY is everywhere!!

Does anyone know/remember how much it costs to have DCL do my laundry for me???? :confused3 I would prefer NOT to spend MY precious vacation time in the laundry room :lmao: (must budget for that as well as the BBCs/Cafe Toledos)

I looked on the master website & haven't been able to find anything.....am going over to the main DCL thread to see if it's under the stickeys.

Both of those sound good to me I agree with Joi I probably won't be wearing a tiara again.

I'm bringing a lot of Disney shirts that I have and have bought for the trip. Bring them along.

Finally got my cruise docs yesterday!

Can't wait to meet everyone.

:banana::cheer2:

Yey Krisann for the weight loss! I've been on Weight Watchers online since the beginning of the year and my clothes are too big, too. Now I fit into some old cruise wear that I am psyched to bring on the trip! And I figure even though I won't be dieting on the cruise, I'll still be ahead of where I started. <g>

Thanks to Dee for posting the knitting information. If you have a your local yarn store, you might want to go there, as this is the place you'll get the largest selection and the most knowledgable knitting staff. If you don't have a local yarn store or a craft store, you can also shop online. PM or email me for some good online vendors. Here's to many new projects and some great knitting time!
