Question Of The Day.

You are walking around the ship and see someone you don’t know wearing a (unknown color maybe lime green) Lanyard what do you do?

That depends. Is anyone in my family (especially the adults...) misbehaving badly or otherwise embarrassing me? If so, am I wearing my lanyard? If not, a duck and run away may be in order (possibly leaving behind the offending family members...can't be caught knowing them!).

Assuming neither I nor the person with the lanyard are (or appear to be) busy, I will most likely offer a greeting and my name (assuming the other person hasn't already beaten me to it!!).

:tink::tink:
I was completely having a blonde moment with the QOTD. I was reading that it would be someone you didn't know with a lanyard you didn't recognize (like they were part of some other elite group).....I was trying to figure out an answer....Perhaps I was supposed to figure out what their lanyard was for....

Now that my blonde moment has passed...
So I'm terrible with names (warning to everyone), and I'm a little awkward when I don't have the benefit of a computer, so I'd probably just smile.

:bday: I couldn't find your favorite color on the spreadsheets but I thought I remembered purple. So.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY in what I hope is your color.

I'm terrible with names, too. So I understand. And while you have blonde moments just think of them as a way to prepare for gray/white moments in the future. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Have a magical day. :tink:

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What little known special treat (activity/food/etc) is not to be missed onboard?

Treats not to be missed on board, hhhhmmm there so many, but I must say I cannot complete a cruise without a Mickey Bar, chocolate chips cookies delivered to the stateroom, a turkey leg on pirate night while watching Pirated of the Carribean on the big screen under the stars. Pretty well all the food is outstanding,:thumbsup2

Hoping today is our document arrival day. We booked this cruise on Oct 13, 2008 and to the present time we have never received a stitch or correspondence fro DCL. WHere as we have another cruise booked on the Wonder in August and we received a package several weeks ago..:confused3:confused3

No docs....maybe they will come tomorrow for my birthday.

Free drinks on formal night. Still can't believe it took me till my 3rd cruise to realize these drinks are free!!!

Match Your Mate and Magic Quest (Adult Savenger Hunt) - They are both on night one and both not to miss. We always laugh so hard at both of these activities!!!

Oh and my husbands personal favorite, the pastry treats in the Cove Cafe. Again something we did not know were free until our 3rd cruise.

Free There free, I gotta pay attention:rotfl:

Visa cards...currency ... My debit/visa said as long as they had the dates i should not have a problem BUT...My AAA office also offers a prepaid iternational debit type card that is guaranteed to work overseas. The only reason I didnt go with that was my bank (credit union...love them) had no exchange fee tacked on to my card.

Scouting! Hey Scott.... My DS just got his Star Rank (proud mama here) ... I am also commitee chair (on hiatus in April LOL)

Happy Birthday MJ!:woohoo:

Favorites: LOVE the rainforest..... one time I fell asleep on one of the warmed up lounge chairs and they closed and didn't even realize I was still in the rainforest room LOL. I woke up and all the lights were out and not a soul was around...and the front door was locked:scared1:...I had to call to have someone let me out.
My DS and I Love the molten chocolate LAVA cake dessert
I love room service...best kept secret ...that is NOT a secret :thumbsup2

OMG>>>LESS THAN A MONTH to sailing:yay::yay::yay:

Maybe I should come up with something to adorn my lanyard with that is lime green - any ideas???

Krisann

There's always the Home Depot Mickey head paint chips!

mmm, MJ, I don't think the blonde moment is quite passed :goodvibes- if we've got our lanyard, the name tag's got our name:lmao:

In my case, I have "blonde moments" all the time - and I'm gray! Oh, wait, that means it's a senior moment:confused:

oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Does anyone know if they have been offering discounts higher than 10% for rebooking onboard? TIA

I've never heard of one over 10%

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

The small tables of late night snacks set up outside the adult/bar area and near Promonade Lounge. About 10:45-11PM ish. I've moseyed back to my room with a plate of chicken wings, or chocolate covered strawberries, or little sandwiches and tarts on more than one occasion. :thumbsup2

.

Lynne- Love the Meet and Greet sign with all the characters.

Things not to be missed on the cruise- Mickey bars and Cheese and Cracker tray from Room Service.

Still did not get docs. I guess that big black check next to my name may have something to do with it.

Lynne- I PM you about a certain picture that I could not print. If you can print it for me and bring it with you I would appreciate it.

Tried on some summer clothes from last year, and WAHOO! they still fit! I've purchased a couple dresses and fancy shirts for dinners already, but still need to find a formal dress for myself. I've done all the shopping for DS, so he is ready to go. DH needs to try his suit on and make sure it still fits, but I think he's good to go for the most part. Just need to get him a new swim suit.

Check Dillards for formalwear - it always seems like they have formal dresses for 40% off on the sale rack

Shhhh, don't tell Krisann! :rotfl2:

We will be at Epcot on Friday. I also think there will be a few others. Yes, let's have a mini meet....then another meet at Country Inn and Suites that night!

Let the fun begin!!!

We will be at wdw on the 9th also - probably Epcot or if the crowds are bad we might just go play minigolf at Winter Summerland or hang out at our resort pool. That said, we don't really know when we'll arrive or what our exact plans will be so we'll just have to wait 1 more day to meet you guys onboard! :goodvibes

I will be making my very first visit to the Magic Kingdom on Friday the 9th. Oh yeah!

I hope you have a fabulous time! You will love it :) Just know that it isn't usually that crowded. ;)

We won't drive to the port until Sat AM as well - staying just outside Downtown Disney on 535, unless a CM buddy gets us a REAL deal on-property, but last time she checked, it was crazy prices :scared1:, it being Easter week.

We are getting a CM rate through a relative for the 9th - we are AP holders but when we booked the AP discount wasn't available (it is now though)
The CM rate for a value was $108...about 2X what it would be at a non-peak time, but still not too bad.

No docs....maybe they will come tomorrow for my birthday.

:bday: :cake:
I hope you have a wonderful day!!

I hope everyone that has changed rooms will update the spreadsheet. It will make it a lot easier to get our FE gifts packed according to cabins.

Question Of The Day.
You are walking around the ship and see someone you don’t know wearing a (unknown color maybe lime green) Lanyard what do you do?

Say HI! I will almost certainly be wearing my lanyard so maybe it won't seem so strange. I will probably greet faces I recognize with out lanyards too, but being very bad with names, I won't greet you by name.

Is there any way that this could not be a lunch? I know alot of people involved with the Secret Mickey's wanted the reveal to be as quick and painless as possible. I could be wrong though, so if no one has a problem, I don't.

I don't want to dictate what the SM folks are doing. So let's just get the Awards lunch on the books (so to speak) and we can edit to add the SM portion if that works for everyone. Time is slipping away and there are still activities we havn't planned.

Lynne, would you please add the award lunch to your website for the 22nd? Thx!

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What little known special treat (activity/food/etc) is not to be missed onboard?

I love this question, not because I have an answer to share, but because I am learning so much from others. Free drinks? WHAT?!? Awesome!

I hope you have a fabulous time! You will love it :) Just know that it isn't usually that crowded. ;)

I was alarmed to see that the crowds are expected to be really large on Friday. But that's ok! I am going to take it slow and smell the roses. We are planning dinner at Wilderness Lodge to take a break from the park, but I have high hopes that I will be able to hit all of my Must-Dos.

Ah, the Villas at Grand Californian! They are fantastic! Have you been yet? We stayed in a 1 bdrm in Dec. but are usually in a studio since there are just 2 (or 3) of us. Too fun & great view of the park. The water show is due to open this spring. :]

I know I can't wait to see WOC I've seen a few pics and it looks really cool. I'm hoping for a quick trip before August so I can see Aladdin one last time because they are taking it away. And no I haven't been yet I just bought in January and because of the cruise am having to hold off but I'm excited for it.

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What little known special treat (activity/food/etc) is not to be missed onboard?

I like the chocolate chip cookies and a lot of the stuff you guys are saying I didn't know about so I'm learning all kinds of new stuff.

Scouting! Hey Scott.... My DS just got his Star Rank (proud mama here) ... I am also commitee chair (on hiatus in April LOL)

That's GREAT! Congratulations to him (and you)! My DS is right behind. He is 1st Class and looking to be Star by June. We are, right now, in the middle of changing troops. Our church is starting a troop and so he is going to switch to it - a really exciting opportunity. I am now, and will be in the new troop, Assistant Scoutmaster. The first troop meeting of the new troop is 4/5 and then we will miss 3 for the cruise. I can't imagine a better reason to miss, but really looking forward to the new experience when we get back.
