--THIS, I have to see. NO REALLY, I HAVE TO SEE! :rolleyes1

-- ME? ... or Terry (Thossink)? :cheer2: Cougar-watch ... Friday evenings at 9:00PM, on your local ABC affiliate!

Leave me out of this, I am just an unassuming quiet wall flower who observes from afar.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:....neither of you are unassuming :cool2: but you both crack me up!

Hello Hayes family. :flower3: You will find a link on page one of this thread to a google spreadsheet. Click on the bottom tab that says FE2 and add your name and room number (as well as the people in your cabin) to the list and you've joined. We'll be happy to have another cabin with us!:goodvibes

Welcome! We were in cabin #7086 for our Honeymoon Cruise which happened to be the Maiden Voyage of the Magic in July 1998!!!

I saw those at Loblaws and was thinking they would come in really handy. Do you know if it does a good job cleaning and softening? It seems too good to be true coming from one little sheet.

Welcome!!

I found that they were pretty good although I did notice that my black pants had white fluff on them. I don't know that I would use it for my regular wash but for vacation it is very handy!:thumbsup2

Has anyone purchased money for Gibraltar? We got our euros but the bank had no access to pound sterling.

Can someone tell me the advantage to exchanging money before the trip vs on board? We exchanged our money on board last time without any problems. DCL always gave us the "rate of the day" and never charged us a fee.

I just want to make sure I am not missing an advantage to exchanging the money before leaving?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Exchange rates from a bank at home are often better than on a cruise ship.

Woody

Thanks, that is what I was thinking but wanted to make sure I was not missing something else. The rates seem to be getting better and better in my favor every day so I figure if I wait it will be 6 of one half dozen of the other. I would also rather not be traveling with all the cash. I would rather DCL hold it on my shipboard account and I can "cash it out" when needed.

Thanks!

-- SURE - yeah, right - and by afar, you mean - Outlook Bar? :drinking1 :stir:

Exchange Rates
-- Last week, I picked up Euros from Citizens Bank (Northweast US) ... rate was 1.46

-- What was the product that was discussed a few weeks ago ... I remember numerous poor QC issues.

I have so much to catch up on here. Just wanted to post that we received a call from Disney a few days ago...our rooms were upgraded (from cat 11 to cat 6)!!

I think it is wise to get some Euros in advance (at a local bank or even onboard) before arriving at Madeira. That way you can start sightseeing right away.

We have been to foreign ports where it was difficult to find an ATM that would accept a U.S.-issued ATM card. Some foreign ATMs will only accept ATM cards that have an embedded microchip.

That's exciting! Was it your first upgrade? I was just wondering if 12 GTYs which had been upgraded to cat11 have a chance of a further upgrade. Sorry, don't want to be greedy but still hoping.

Todays rate - 1.00 EUR = 1.35936 USD

I've also been watching the Euro rates lately too. That is the actual "market" rate, however, the bank exchange rate is a tad less, somewhere currently around 1 Euro = 1.4 USD.

I'm with you in waiting to the last minute and perhaps exchanging the bulk of my USD's either on the ship or via ATM in the ports. I know my bank only charges a $1.50 USD transaction fee, and supposedly the ATM exchange rate is very good. But probably good to have some money exchanged ahead of time just in case.

Okay, so I am assuming there are about 4,000 - 5,000 DCL cruisers who have had the ability to cram into the perspective Walt Disney Theatres, for a midnight prem-EAR of ALICE IN WONDERLAND!?

Hope to see this one the ship. Just finished watching Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow (TBS) a few hours ago. Great movie ... I keep learning more each time I watch the movie.
:3dglasses

It was our first upgrade...we had assigned rooms in cat 11, maybe they needed them for all those cat 12 bargain sales? I dunno! Grateful though! Now we have the two bathrooms & the verandah...this is the category we had the only other time I sailed & I had been nervous about going smaller for such a long trip.
