I am passing this on, because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Oprah show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Oz proclaimed, 'The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.'

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Tequila, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates.

You have no idea how good I feel right now. :cool1: :lmao:

rofl thanks for the laugh!:rotfl::rotfl:

Okay, I got an upgrade. Not much: 12 Gty to 11, Deck 6, #6113.
Didn't really expect any, being a solo cruiser (low priority) and first time DCL cruiser, and late purchaser (November 2009). I guess an inside cabin is the same whether its on Deck 2 or 6, isn't it?

Some cruisers talk about " room reviews " , what is this and where do I find them?
According to a deck plan I saw, I'm directly adjoining the aft elevators. Are they noisy, as in clanging machinery next to my bed at night?

Already posted it (cabin #) on the Google Documents spreadsheet.

Steven, thanks so much! :lmao: I had to send this on to my DD. Hope she gets as big a kick out if it as I did.

Sorry, I don't know the answers to your questions but I just wanted to welcome you to the party deck! (from one solo to another)

What are the prices like on this sailing date? I'm thinking this might be fun...

It's probably best to go to DisneyCruiseLine.com (or call your T/A), depending on your possible discounts, and room options. If you have a phantom cruise already booked, you can swap it out to one of these itineraries, for a 10% discount.

We booked the 6 day LA to Vancouver on points - it was fairly inexpensive. It includes a layover in San Francisco, as well as Victoria, BC (Canada), then arrives in Vancouver (same pier as the Olympics). I would love to take an excursion of Vancouver between the B2B cruise segments.

The Inaugural Alaska may or may not have gone up in price. It ir round trip from Vancouver. I love to be on inaugural cruises!

We like the fact that airfare to LA is reasonably priced ... and we can visit sunny California for a day or two in advance. It give those of us on the East Coast a little time to adjust to local time (jet lag). We can choose to visit DisneyLand, or spend time in San Diego (few hours south).

Those who do Alaska only can get a flight to Seattle, WA (via Southwest Airlines) for next to nothing ... then get a rental car for a 3 hours drive to Vancouver. I would plan to see a bit of Vancouver, before boarding the ship.

If anyone wants to fly into Vancouver, conside Alaska Airlines ... who flies into Seattle, WA, as well as Vancouver, BC, Canada. A flight from Philadelphia to Vancouver is about $600 +/-. I had looked at a few other airlines, but was THINKING Alaska might have more flights heading to Seattle and/or Vancouver. Your mileage mar vary!

Lastly, remember that a B2B cruise DOES INDEED count as two separate cruise on your Castaway Club level ... while only requiring airfare for one trip.

If anyone else on thread (sailing the LA-Vancouver REPO - April 27, 2011, or Inaugural Alaska - 5/3/11) has any input ... by all means ... please do so. In the interim, here are the DisBoard threads ... which are not too active at this time:

FYI prices for the first Alaska cruise start at $1159 pp / dbl occupancy, not including taxes, insurance, transfers, and fries. Wait, no, the fries ARE included! :lmao::lmao:

From Seattle, the best way up to Vancouver is by train. I love the trip. That's how I'm going for our August 2011 Alaska cruise (DCL, of course). I live right outside Seattle and went up to BC by train many times. It's a great ride and usually the border crossing is much shorter than going by car...

P.A.M -- The DIS site has a extensive collection of room reports. You can find them here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm

The DCL section of the DIS site has a ton of useful info including photos. Enjoy!

50 in March is cold

Actually for Florida it is very cold. That being a high? We normally have one "cold" week a year a couple of cool weeks and then it gets warm quick. Usually by this time we are in the 70s for highs and 50s for lows. Just keep in mind it could be this cold for our cruise if doesn't hurry up and warm up already!!

You should hear all of us in Florida! We are all sick with colds, flu, and/or bronchitis right now because of the fluxuating temps:sick:

Me too. I did find a site that has actual pictures of cougars - http://www.junglewalk.com/shop/Cougar-t-shirts.htm - and you can have a saying put underneath the picture.

I was thinking "careful, I bite" or "I'm watching you" :rotfl2: Kristi

I Like it ! :lmao: I saw a couple nice ones on cafe press...but I am still looking for the best shirt AND the best deal (can't help myself...more money saved, more spent on cruise).... The hunt is part of the fun:cool2: ....hmmm

50 degrees !...thats why I cancelled my parasailing (did it once already anyway and will do it on the Dream next summer) for C Cay....I hate being cold AND being dragged through freezing wind too ....

If it doesn't get somewhat warmer within the next few weeks....I may cancel my CCay cabana massage too!

Steven and Dee, thanks for the info! I didn't realize it was available for booking. Clearly, I'm out of the loop. ;)

I think the Sept - Vancouver to LA would be fun! I'm thinking of trying to get a group of friends together. None of our friends have sailed DCL and are interested. This would be very easy and affordable since we could take the train up to Vancouver (like Dee mentioned) and most of us have miles on Alaska Air to get us home from LAX.

I'm going to call DCL as soon as I get everyone off to school! :)

I mentioned this to dh last night and he said, "Can we just get through this cruise?" ha! ;) He doesn't get a thrill from pre-planning like I do. :cloud9: He's also spoiled because I told him we could sail in a regular stateroom and not a suite and his response was, "All 5 of us in one room!" ;) I was going to take a year off of DCL and go to Hawaii and then sail the Dream in 2012....with the Wonder in our backyard, I may have to change our plans...

Not having to purchase flights would eliminate a major expense of cruising DCL.

Exactly!!! I called DCL and it sounds like they have plenty of availability... and they have suites avail too. ;) I've told 5 friends and I think we're going to do it!

Does anyone know if they're still offering the 50% deposit while onboard? And, if I reserved rooms for friends would they also get the 10% discount and OBC? Sorry for the newbie questions. I've never booked onboard. I was going to book a dummy for the Dream but maybe I'll book a real ressie! :)

Now don't go telling secrets!!!! Maybe I should go and order some lime green and have the hander outers wearing them and confuse everyone!

:confused3:confused3 Confusion is just a state of mind.:confused3:confused3 At least that is my excuse. My family is not following the thread and so will be confused no matter what color they get.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We have been sick too! There's a yucky cold that's going around the Sarasota area. I'm better but my husband is still coughing a lot.

We went to a spring training game yesterday and I was covered head to toe! Imagine what this winter would be like without global warming lol

You want confusion? When you arrive in Port Canaveral ... point to the white "boat" (with that ugly, red whale-tail in the middle of the top deck), and tell them you changed reservations! :scared1:
