So we can take money from our shipboard account (prepaid) and convert it to Euros or do we need to bring cash to exchange for euros?

My college girls use the Purex sheets and have no problem either. That and a color guard sheet and everything goes in the same load, no sorting.

Jeanne, glad you asked this. It was going to be my next question. Cause if we have to bring cash, might as well just bring euros. I did ask DCL if we could use our "leftover" euros to pay our onboard account. They said to exchange them back into dollars and then put them on our account.

I have tried out the Purex sheets to see how they worked before taking them on the cruise. I washed a load of scrubs and they have spots on them now. Something like a grease spot. Not all over or even every one but a few of them. My load of whites and printed colors were ok. I think you just can't see them. So, if you have solid colors, I'd be careful. I tried putting stain stick on the spots but it didn't remove them. So, I wear my scrubs with spots...

- Consider using leftover Euro's as gratuities for stateroom attendant and servers. They're going to be in the MED for a while, and I am sure they could use Euros when they get free time off the ship.

Has anyone purchased money for Gibraltar? We got our euros but the bank had no access to pound sterling.

Do you belong to a credit union as well? If so, try them. I went to my credit union this past money to order my euros and pound sterling. Had to trouble at all.

Also, call your local AAA office to see if they have the tips pack. Sometimes they can get you the money as well.

Linda, I believe that DCL will charge another commission to exchange Euros back to US dollars.

Okay, It seems real now! My cruise Docs just arrived!!:dance3::cheer2: Five weeks today and I leave for the cruise! :woohoo: Even DH is slightly excited. (He doesn't get really excited until he comes home from work the day before we leave  so I have to share all of my exciting pre-planning stuff with you people!) Thank goodness for the dis board or DH would be driven mad by now! :teeth:

True... But if I have more leftover than I want to leave for tips, I have to get them "reexchanged" somewhere. Might as well pay off some of my expenses. :goodvibes I'm having a hard time deciding how much money/euros I want to bring. I don't really want to spend a lot. I have that bad habit of thinking money burns holes in my pocket. If I have it, I'll spend it. :sad2:

And I have some ocean front property in Montana to sell. :rotfl:

Whydoes no one believe me?:confused3 Really I am Introverted I even took the test:thumbsup2

I heard about this global warming thing, I just did not know it was moving so fast that Montana now has ocean front.

Don't forget to save some Euro for the airport!

Oh Yay! I was just wondering when cruise docs would start arriving. Some of my family who are traveling with us have been asking questions that would be much simpler to answer if I could just point them to the cruise packet.

This trip is all my DH and I can talk about! If I am not updating him on the boards (sometimes he lurks, but mostly he let's me fill him in :confused3) then we are planning our packing or discussing the ports.

I am really hoping to book a trip on the Dream while on board. What is the standard deal? OBC and 10% price reduction?

Oohh! Oooh!! Cruise Docs in the mail?????? I will have to check my mail when I get home!!!!:cool1::dance3::cheer2::yay:

Welcome! We were in cabin #7086 for our Honeymoon Cruise which happened to be the Maiden Voyage of the Magic in July 1998!!!

How fun!

Same here. Hopefully in 3D.

Same here. I was happy to hear a review this morning that said it's not too scary.

This is a great idea!

I just called my AAA office and they charge $12 for ordering (under $1,000) euros.

Brooklyn, your girls are beautiful! princess:princess: They look very happy!

I'd also like to know what the deposit might be? I thought I read that they were discounting the deposit? I need to find room for this in the budget and would like to know the exact dollar amount. :) TIA

Some described this like waiting for Christmas. When you receive your cruise documents in the mail it's like putting the christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving.

Don't forget to save some Euro for the airport!
I keep some Euros on hand for:
-- Tips for porters.
-- Tips for driver (taxi or transfer).
-- Some airports require a Euro coin deposit to use a luggage cart (trolly).

We have no problem spending excess currency at the airport -- snacks, refreshments, books, magazines, last-minute souvenirs, and the duty free shop.

For those of you on B2B cabin assignments have started!

I am so happy that DCL kept us across the hall from my mom and the girls!!! The only thing better would have been a verandah but I knew that would not happen bc we got kids sail free in a CAT 12. :lmao:

I'm going to have to second this. I have never had any luck at all with these sheets but I have ruined several dark pieces of clothing. :headache:

I also find the "grease like" spots when using dryer sheets sometimes as well.

I will admit no one in our home wears light colors or even much in the way of whites (at least that anyone would see:rolleyes1)except my DD4 who is so small her clothes are pretty tiny and she ruins them as much as any detergent could:rotfl:

So the sheets are probably fine for lighter colors as the spots don't show up as much. DO try pretreating and rewashing 3x over and some of those spots will come out. . .if the piece of clothing is worth it to you I mean:rolleyes:

I just plan on using the $1 tide plus $2 washer and $2 dryer and calling it a vacation expense. I have so much to pack as it is. I guess I risk the laundry rooms running out of detergent but I think I will risk it.

But I thought that didn't offer kids sail free in Cat 12's :rotfl2:
