Out of the blue a few days ago my bf suggested a cheap trip to Disneyland Paris next month (he's never shown an interest in Disney trip planning before but I knew he'd come around eventually! ;) :wizard:) so I priced it up and it wasn't too bad but I just kept thinking i'd rather put the money towards next year's WDW or DL trip instead. THEN we came to discussing this year's October trip.. Original plan was to visit numerous states cities along the east coast but ended up deciding that the only two we're desperate to visit are Boston and New York so they're staying BUT after NY we're going to make the road trip down to Orlando!! :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: I know flying is much quicker but we both love road trips so we're going to do it over a few days and break it up with some other cities :) We'll more than likely be doing just WDW for a week then possibly driving down to Miami. It's still a very rough plan at the moment but WE'RE GOING TO WDW THIS YEAR!!! :wizard:

You did well, if you love WDW, I'd imagine you'd be severly disappointed by Disneyland Paris as we were last December. Never again!

The money is much better spent in Orlando.

I love WDW but I also love Disneyland Paris. They are very different places but I've had wonderful times at both of them.

I have been to DLRP and enjoyed it but it's pretty expensive for what you get compared to DL or WDW especially with Euro exchange rate being so poor right now. Also, after a few disappointing experiences on my last visit I said i'd leave it a long time before going again, I probably wouldn't have priced it up if not for the shock of my bf actually suggesting a Disney trip.. I was looking round for flying pigs :rotfl:

I have been to DLRP and after our last trip last trip ever i should say we will just save our money for WDW or DL! DLRP standards have fallen and so has their customer service I have been going since 1994 and this year put me off of all those magical memories I have

WDW and DLP in the same year. Now that is the best of both worlds :goodvibes

Have fun planning your WDW trip. The folks here will help with all the questions that you have :)

I've just booked it now! 7 nights CSR with tickets and free dining (upgraded to the normal DDP) for £1089, i'm very happy with that price and looking forward to trying a new resort :)

My favourite WDW trip was when we combined it with an East Coast road trip :goodvibes. We started in Washington DC (having been to NYC twice previously, we ruled that out as a starting point), then drove down through the Appalachians (Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway), Boone, Blowing Rock, Charleston, Savannah and finally 16 nights in Orlando.

Have fun planning! :thumbsup2

I find that comment a bit harsh.

DLRP and WDW are both wonderful parks and are completely different in there own rights. Comparing them is like trying to compare a banana to a apple.

your plans sound great, Boston is on my list of places to do in the next few years.

I love WDW and DLRP and I am going to try and do both every year, though will be doing DLRP in January when it is really cheap and WDW in September.

Yes January is great for DLRP, cold but cheap as chips! We paid something mad like £200 for hotel and tix for 3 nights/4 days plus flights in 2006! Guessing next trip will be 2010/11, really want to try TOT :)

it still gives you that disney fix. Disneyland paris will always be a special place to me as it was my first disney holiday experience, disney world is on another level though lol.

If people want to discuss WDW vs. DLP please can you start another thread...

sounds great. I would love to do a road trip when the boys are older.

A road trip sounds fantastic, how long will it take from NY to Orlando? It's something I would love to do now the girls are older.
