Bounceback Vs. FD

I need some input from the experts! I need to determine if it's in my best interest to keep my BB or switch to FD. My best interest isn't just the $, but what will work best for our family.

I booked a bounceback (on my Feb.s girls trip) with 30% off POFQ for 6 nights 9/27-10/3 for 2 adults and 2 kids (4 & 2) water view. The room only price is $838.71. Now that FD is out (and I have a DVRC) I'd weighing if I should change my ressie.

Now, here's the catch. My hubby does not know I booked the bounceback ( I did not book FD BB on our trip in Sept and have been kicking myself). I think he might be convinced to take another trip because my son STILL talks about our family trip in Sept. However, we are currently tightening our belts like everyone else - so in DH's mind a vacation would likely be out.
That being said, I feel a good deal in hand is worth two in the bush, YKWIM? I have approached this as I can cancel and get my deposit refunded, no harm no foul.

My big hang ups are: 1. I have a 1 night deposit of $140, so I'd have to do an additional $60 deposit (not that big of a deal) and 2. 100% refund changes from 6 days to 45 days when moving from a room ressie to a package.

Dollar wise FD wins. But, my hesitation is the extra time to get DH on board.
So....WWYD?

Onto the details.
Bounceback
POFQ $838.71
Tix (UT) $645.85
Food $500 (doing 3 TS and remainder CS - if we wanted to eat cheaply)
BB Total $1984.56

Free Dining
Package total $1869.20

For our family FD is a much better deal, our DD is four and the character meals are as fun for her as the parks themselves, we are going for 10 nights and will do 5-6 character meals, no way would we do so many without FD.;)

I would book the FD now while choice hotels are still available. You can always cancel.

Take Free Dining. It is a better deal. I would jump at either offer but it sounds as though you might benefit more from Free Dining. Either way, have a great time!

Too funny! I'm in the same situation with my DH. I booked a trip for Sept with FD and he doesn't know. I'm hoping by the 45 day mark, he'll get used to the idea.

For your situation, if it is only ~ $100 diff, I'd keep the BB offer since you have more flexibility with the cancel policy. Also, if you go with FD, you'll probably eat more at TS, which will require ADRs. I think you'll lose some flexibility with dining when/where you want at that time. With the dining plan, you'll definitely have to plan it out before you go -- ADRs for all TS meals at 90 days out.

If I can get a pin code for 40% off, I'll switch from FD.

Either way, good luck!

Thanks for all the input. I need to pull the trigger on this today before FD is released to the public. I STILL on the fence as of what to do. UGH!
