Bounceback Information and FAQ Thread - 25-35% off BOUNCEBACKS ARE EXTENDED for 2026! Updated 5/22/2025

Yes, you have 7 days after check out to book. So if you checked out Friday the 23rd, you have until tomorrow, the 30th to book. Many people just book anything to get the reservation confirmed. You can always move dates, resorts or room types later, pending availability. Right now, there are dates available until October 30th, 2026. See the 1st post on this thread for dates.

If you find a better offer or decide not to go, you have the usual cancellation policies. You can book a package or room only bounceback. I was told after the 7 day booking period you can’t change from 1 of those to the others, but other posters seem to have been able to make that change, so YMMV on that.
Thanks so much! So if I book a room only, there would only be a penalty if I cancelled within the 8-day period before we were to arrive? I'm going to look at some dates and see what I can find.

If you book a ticketless package (a $200 deposit), you have a 30 day cancellation policy.

UPDATE:

I called Disney yesterday (I had a person who contacted me after I wrote a serious email complaining about their system for booking a Bounceback in February), and I successfully changed my September 2025 reservation to a January 2026. I have a few observations:

I'm disappointed in the sparse dates available for Bouncebacks. Unless I wanted to go during July or August, or most of September, they seem to be limited to 5-night stays during random weeks of the year. This is what was available:

  • January 2026: January 12-15, January 19-23
  • February 2026: February 8-12, February 15-19, February 22-25
  • March 2026: March 3 to May 21
  • May 2026: May 25 to July 1
  • June/July 2026: July 6 to September 2
  • September 2026: September 7 to 29
  • October 2026: October 26 to 31
It made booking a 6-night stay somewhat difficult since my family decided that January was the best time for us. No 6-night blocks are offered.

I booked January 19 - 25, which means 5 nights at Bounceback rates (19-23) and one night (24) at the full rate. The price is still pretty good. My husband and I were there in February of 2025 for 5 nights, and our room at the Yacht Club in January of 2026 for 6 nights still costs us less than 5 nights in 2025. But it certainly is not cheap! And the fact that we're bringing our daughter, SIL, and 2 littles is causing a bit of sticker shock! (When I had the 6 nights in September of 2025 booked to hold my reservation it was much less expensive - obviously...2025 prices.) If we decide to drop the last (full price) night it would save us some, but I was advised to wait it out and see if I can find some sort of "deal" to cancel that night as part of this reservation and maybe get another promotion on it to bring the price down. Who knows - we'll see.

And yes, I do know that January 19 is MLK Day. But it's also our arrival day, and I'm thinking that the days after that (20-25) won't be too crazy. Or at least that's what I've been reading. Again, who knows - we'll see.

I got emails from Disney confirming everything.

AND, I'm definitely able to go into my reservations online and change anything I want - including dates. I was definitely playing around yesterday, trying to find the best deal possible.

I’m ok with calling just as long as I can modify the new reservation online and my new reservation does allow me to do that.
So my reservation “looks” like I can modify — but does not allow me to successfully check out. I can see availability, so that works for my needs and I can call if I need anything, but I’m curious to hear if anyone actually can successfully check out a modified BB online anymore. Hoping it’s just a temporary glitch!

Yeah the dates do seem more limited next year. This year it was all of Sept and next year they are excluding Labor Day, which I get, but just a weird change. Or like you said, a few days in the beginning of the year, but not a full week.

Yes, as long as you make sure it’s room only, which requires a full night’s deposit. I always book room only as I prefer the more flexible cancellation policy.

Sparse dates?!! Limited dates?!! Look at the dates again. From March 3 to September 29, (almost 7 months!) the only dates EXCLUDED are the holidays..Memorial Day, 4th of July & Labor Day weekends. All of Spring & Easter Breaks are INCLUDED. That was unheard of before. Bounceback discounts, like any other Disney discount, are offered to fill rooms. Attendance patterns have changed over the last 10 years. January & February have gotten much more crowded, June, & July attendance has decreased. So included dates change. As for the weekends being excluded in January & February, there are several events those weekends that fill resorts. There is no logic to Disney offering discounts when there is limited availability to start with.

I think complaints about the included dates are very unwarranted.

Some date ranges are more limited. I get why, but just unfortunate for those who want to go at those times. I was hoping part of Labor Day weekend would have been included as I’d rather arrive on a Sunday :). When I was first looking for dates I must have been thinking of 2025 dates as I couldn’t figure out why others were seeing availability and I wasn’t! Well it’s because my selected arrival date wasn’t in their date range. Ha!

Every discount offer has date ranges that are more limited. There are always people whose preferred dates aren’t included, for every discount. There are currently 10 months of 2026 included in the BB offer, January thru October. For 7 of those 10 months, March 3 - October 30, there are 11, only 11 days that are not included. How is that limited? There have been many posts the last few years about how busy January & February have gotten & from people having difficulty finding any room, even at rack rate. Of course dates that are already heavily booked are more likely to be excluded. It has worked that way for the 30+ years we’ve been staying at WDW. None of this is new. And the only thing that’s changed is which dates have gotten more popular & busy.

Oh for sure. All offers are limited based on busy/not busy dates. I’m just agreeing with that poster that the dates she wanted are limited (winter) and the dates I was looking for are slightly more limited. For other people the dates are probably more expansive. Just depends on when one was looking to book for.

Has anyone even gotten a bounceback for French Quarter? Looking at next June - booked a 2026 reservation within the 7 days of checking out last week it was at rack rate but when I called to change - nothing was available. I could book preferred at Riverside but that was more than my current rack rate at FQ.

Sorry, another question - when do they normally make the villas available as a bounceback? Is it around 7 months out or sooner? I was able to book a villa 7 months out for my last bounceback, I was just wondering if I need to check back sooner - currently have 2 rooms with bounceback but could do a villa

When I was looking I saw FQ availability in early Sept. you can modify what you booked online and play around with dates and see if you find anything.

I booked my original reservation last week when the “enhancements” were being implemented, so currently it doesn’t show as a bounceback in the MDE app, there is no button to modify or even to look at any other resort pricing for my dates. It just looks like a regular reservation (DR Hotel Pkg with Dining Plan). There is no button to click to change/pay down/cancel the reservation.

That’s weird. I wonder if you can call and have them make a change and then it will show up as a BB in MDE?

I did call and they don’t have any BB for my dates at the FQ - that is what was driving my question. They said to check back and that there maybe cancellations, I could book Riverside Preferred but even with the bouncback for Riverside it was more expensive than what my price is for rack rate at FQ. Since I really want the splash pad (4 kids 5 and under on this trip) booking and getting from Riverside isn’t really feasible. So I guess I will stay with Rack rate at FQ and see if any discounts open for 2026 rooms later.

Have you tried the website? Did you book a package or room only reservation? Room only never had an option to pay online, you have to call. I find the MDE section of the website shows more information as well as the change reservation option where the app doesn’t.

So did you end up booking the BB over the phone with them? Just curious as you said your code online doesn’t show that it’s a BB room. What I meant was, have them make a change and see if the modify option then appears online.

Focusondisney made a good point though, are you looking in the app or on the website? App doesn’t ever have a modify/change option for me.

I usually book a bounce back for the first week of February. The combination of value season pricing and a 35% BB discount made the WL a great deal in prior years. But the first week of February is not included in the BB. I'll wait to see if the annual passholders discounts comes out for my dates instead of booking a BB.

For my dates in February, the only room type available for POFQ was a king bed which is not going to work. Just about every room category at POR was available. I decided to splurge and booked a room at the Beach Club as we are primarily going for the Festival for Arts so we will be able to walk to Epcot instead of using buses.
