For those who have booked bounce back with a room discount, do you buy the dining plan? Do you find it saves you more to do the room discount than free dining?

Free Dining comes out to be a discount of:
$55 per adult and $26 per child, per night, staying Value or Mod
$78 per adult and $30.50 per child, per night, staying Deluxe

You can compare those numbers with the room discount. In general, FD is a better deal when staying in values, room discount is a better deal when staying Deluxe. The higher the number of Disney adults in the room and the cheaper the resort is, the higher the probability that FD is the better deal. The smaller the number of Disney adults in the room and the more expensive the resort is, the higher the probability that room discount is a better deal.

Also, you need to have a minimum 4 day park hopper ticket for FD. The PH can add an unnecessary expense to those that don’t need it.

Finally, FD dates look to be extremely limited for 2020. So, even if it’s a good deal for you, were you able to get it booked for your dates? And conversely, not every date is included in the BB room discount. So, you have to do the actual math of both discounts to determine which one is a better deal.

P.S. - we have not purchased the dining plan since we had two Disney kids (under 9), but we have booked FD once and have a FD trip coming up (4 Disney adults, staying mod).

No. While I love free dining, I would never pay for the dining plan. We can eat for way less than $220 per day - the cost of the quick service dining plan.

You really need to look at the deluxe discounts carefully as well. When I price out the room discount for my dates in August, I can get a deluxe for up to 25% off, but that doesn’t mean all deluxe resorts are 25% off.

Using two comparably priced deluxes, the Poly and the GF, my discount at the Poly for a standard room is only $56 per night, just 10% off, while my discount at the GF standard is $166 per night with 25% off. So it would be a better deal to get Fd at the Poly, but at the GF I’d more than likely take the room discount, buy discounted tickets and drop the hopper for my family of four.

No. While I love free dining, I would never pay for the dining plan. We can eat for way less than $220 per day - the cost of the quick service dining plan.

This! Disney is not discounting across the board. Some resorts are only 10% off, some 25%, some 30%, some room categories are included, some not, some dates are discounted, some not. You have to price out each option.

The majority of our trips are FD trips. The couple of times we have visited without FD I chose to purchase the dining plan.

Did I save money? I’m guessing ‘no’ but, I live the rest of my life on a fairly tight budget so I find that almost impossible to turn off at Disney. The odd time we’ve been there without a dining plan, even if for just 1 night, I find myself stressing about every penny we’re spending on food. I order things I don’t really want because what I want is $3 more.

I purchase the dining plan because it is a gift to myself to have food and snacks paid for in advance! No stressing about food costs while we’re there and to me, that’s worth the cost of the plan.

Hi, all - I'm thinking of taking advantage of BB during my trip next week (YAAAAAYYYY!!!! But I digress.) What is the fastest way to do this? In other words, what is the way that requires me to be on the phone with Disney resort reservations LEAST while I'm at WDW? Book now and see if they can apply the discount when i call? Get myself a fantastic Disney travel agent who can do this for me? Call right at 7 am (albeit not on RotR day)?

I don't think it makes a difference (other than the speed of the CM you get,) but I agree the wasted time you spend booking it is aggravating.

No. We did twice before they changed some things (even then it still ended up costing us more to buy dining plan as opposedto pay out of pocket, but it was convenient,) but at this point it's never going to be worth it for us. Most of the adult's in our group are big drinkers (either because underage or personal preference) and I feel like without getting an alcoholic drink at most meals we're really overpaying with the dining plan.

Felt too good to be true at that price (as that would be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than I have ever stayed at All-Stars in last few years.

I clicked on it and it took me to page to input the pin code, last name and zip code -- but said it was invalid.

Couple of possibilities. Is there a different zip code Disney might have for you? Have you ever booked from a different address? Have you traveled with anyone with a different last name or address? The PIN code could actually be for that person & not you. Yes, it’s a Disney thing.

Not sure I will call .. I am curious but I dont see us going at the times specified (April/May 4/25–4/30, 5/4–5/6 and 5/11–5/14/20. ) .. have a trip planned in June and would have to pull son out of school (which is why we planned for mid June) ..
Though this would be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the 4 nights AoA Mermaid rooms I have booked in June .. and would be $40-50+/night cheaper than what the All-Stars were going for in June WITH discounts (like AP discount).

I would rebook the June trip (and just pulll the kid), but we already have a Hilton resort stay booked (have to sit through timeshare presentation) on the front end of the AoA stay. That 3-day Hilton stay (which they tell us will be fully comped) is saving us enough money that I am not tempted to rebook a trip in May for this deal.

Play with the spelling of your last name a bit. We always find that adding a letter or deleting a letter opens up the offer and let’s us check it out. Maybe that will help.

This is a legitimate offer, but it’s a “unique offer code” (UOC) or “pin code” offer, not a Bounceback. Just to avoid confusion from anyone else reading this, Bouncebacks can be booked by anyone staying at a WDW-owned resort, while they are staying onsite. UOCs or pin codes are targeted promos usually sent to past guests or those who have registered/requested info from a Disney company, and can only be used by the guests they were intended for.

The last pin code I got, I had to put in my previous zip code, from like 5 years before and I think, my DHs last name. If you are interested and cannot get it to work online, it’s best to call. Good luck!

I tried those too .. no luck. So NO clue what zip code it is under (I am really curious at this point and almost tempted to call just to find that out).

It is tempting . .if the price is TRULY $69/night .. and not "well Thursday is $69, but Friday and Saturday are $120 and Sunday is $105.

Just too limited dates at this point and not sure the cost savings is worth moving a planned vacation up a month (especially since ADRs already made). Wish I could pass it on.

Have you ever helped other families book Disney trips? I used to receive PINs in the mail and get excited until I noticed they were my address but any of about 5 other family names who I'd help book Disney trips. Somehow all our stuff was mixed up on the Disney system so the PINs were not valid to any of us. (This was before MDE so quite a while ago.)

Who doesn’t love a good Disney mystery? It could be under the zip code and last name of any of the guests in any of those reservations associated with your email address. If you booked it and received the confirmation in your email, they would send the PIN code to your email. $69 is really cheap.
