Bounceback Information and FAQ Thread - 25-35% off BOUNCEBACKS ARE BACK for 2024/2025! Updated 8/25/2024

If I book a bb package and need to change my dates after the initial 7 days return home are gone, i can do that without losing my discount IF my new dates are available. I might have to change resorts so that I can keep my bb discount for my new date but once I book a bb I am not tied to my initial dates forever to get the discount
Yes, you may modify based on availability.

Yeah, the ticketless package is not ideal for those that do not need tickets or dining because the modification and cancellation terms are not as favorable.

I am curious about the discount only being available as a ticketless package because that is different than what I've seen before when booking with a discount, both calling for a bounceback and booking online. I wonder whether something has changed or if you have gotten some CMs on the phone that are not as knowledgeable or that are purposely trying to direct you to a package product because CMs appear to be incentivized to book packages. Also, if you already have a ticketless package booked, they do have to do more work because they have to first cancel your booking and then book a (less incentivized) room only. I wish we had some type of inside knowledge of how this works.
When I booked BWI resort view cl initially, I specifically asked the CM to “switch screens” to check for room only offers—only the cottages were available. When booking online with/without discounts (mainly AP) in the past, I have occasionally noted differences in availability between the two. I’ve always just assumed the algorithms must be slightly different. For some reason, it has always seemed like the system wants Poly reservations in groups of 3 (6 days, 9 days, etc). Getting that 7 day week was always a big PITA. And it’s never fun to find those Saturday check ins as well.

I’ve always found it strange how different rooms are only available for either a room only or a package, but not both.
In over 30 years of WDW trips, I’ve never heard of different inventories for discount rooms until the last few weeks on this thread. It’s never been a thing before. I’m still not sure it is, or if it’s a CM just saying it. Since we can’t check online ourselves, we’ll never know.

Had a wonderful trip in August, but did not book a Bounceback because I didn’t think I’d be going in 2025. Of course now I’m getting the itch to go. Hoping there are some discounts later. Just a tad angry at myself. Should have made one and I could have always canceled. Sigh….

ok, I think I've got you beat on this one - we booked a BB offer at the end of our trip in March and picked the only dates in October at POFQ. When annual pass discounts came out that covered a larger part of the year with more availability we booked a trip to start this upcoming Thursday, cheaper and a better time for us. Fast forward to when our countdown hit 2 weeks and i decided to call and cancel the BB so i didn't forget. What happened about 2 days after that? Covid-19 finally caught up to us. We made the tough decision last night to move the trip since I've lost my sense of taste and still can't stand up without feeling like I'm gonna pass out. Urgh, i really wish i had left the danged BB reservation alone because the next time we could get things lined up is the end of November. Our countdown went from 5 days back to over 60 😖

Yup, you got me beat. I’m so sorry!

Ugh. Sounds like something I would do.

@Donald - my hero I’m sorry you’re sick. I’m still recovering myself from Covid that I caught on our WDW trip. We actually checked out of GF club level 2 days early because of it. :sad1: I tested negative Friday but I’m still having sinus pain & congestion & I’m still so tired all the time. Not one of the lucky ones for whom it’s “just a cold” I guess. I was actually leary of going because I knew numbers were high & so many people were getting it down there. I’m mad I didn’t change our dates & went anyway.

And sorry you don’t have that BB as a fall back. Please don’t get too mad at yourself… no way you could have known. Hope you fully recover soon. :flower3:

We got GF CL for end of July 2025.

Note, it’s still super expensive with the 35% off and my calculations were off by a little; I think it’s because my youngest is turning 18 during the trip, so it looks like we’re also adding $70+ tax in extra adult fees (for 2 adult children).

Summer is the new low season. Between heat and storms, many prefer to visit WDW at a different time.
I remember when September was so slow! Years ago! We celebrated our September Anniversary every year there with little to zero wait for attractions, often just staying in the boat for Slash Mountain! Good times!

So I have a question. I have a bounce back booked from April 2025 already. I am coming in November 2024 can I book another bounce back for the same time in April for a second room? Not trying to scam the system just genuinely curious

A 2nd resort for yourself on the same trip? Yes absolutely. Disney sees that as a separate trip & you can hold as many trip reservations as you want. I currently have 3 bouncebacks booked..a split stay in May with 2 different resorts & a single resort in September.

For the exact same dates for someone else to go on the trip with you? Not sure. I don’t think I’ve ever read anyone do this. You definitely can book up to 3 rooms so you could book for someone else who is going with you. But I’ve only heard of doing it at the same time as yours is booked. It certainly doesn’t hurt to call & ask. If they say no, possibly see what is still available for your dates. If there’s a resort & room you want… book those 2 rooms & cancel the 1st bounceback if it’s the only option.

It would technically a 2nd room for 2 other people who want to go with us at the same time. I will call and ask in November. Thank you

Can you book a bounce back offer when you're staying on DVC points?

If a better offer for February doesn’t drop on Tuesday, I’ll be calling Wednesday to try to book a bounceback based on our points stay last week. We checked out Friday, so I have a few days still. I’ll post here with how it goes if I end up trying for the bounceback.

Yes, call and explain. Technically, you are able to book up to 3 rooms for the same time period so people can travel with you. If you encounter any difficulties, have them cancel your previous bounceback and have them book the 2 rooms anew.

Yes, as long as you are listed as a guest in that DVC points reservation.

Great I'm doing my first DVC stay in January and I'm always on the lookout for discounts!
