Bounceback DDP "bait and switch" - Will complaining work?

mavdav,

When I booked the bounceback free dining deal while at CSR last September, I was told AT LEAST twice that appetizers and tips were no longer included.

The changes to the plan were well publicized before the bounceback was offered.

In fact, you posted in April 2008:

"If I am understanding you correctly, you will be saving your money with all the food you get! We usually end up eating a dinner close to $200 and we don't pay for it! Now, with them taking away the appetizer portion and the gratuities this year it might not have as much benefit, but its a highlight for us! We love trying out new restaurants we normally wouldn't try and it doesn't stress us out while we are there wondering how much money we are spending on the food. The first year we did it we tried to save our receipts from each meal to see how much we saved, but we couldn't keep up.

We love it, in fact this year we are going back in Sept b/c we did "bounce back" last Sept!"

So you knew at least in April 2008 when you posted this that the dining plan no longer included the appetizer and tip, but you are now saying you just found out? And you want to complain and possibly get compensation? Interesting. You had plenty of time to cancel before the final payment was due. I personally believe you have no right to complain when you had time to cancel if you weren't 1) informed when booking and 2) happy with the changes well in advance of final payment being due. Just my opinion. :confused3

I sincerely hope you won't go "screaming mad" and complain to your server(s) or their managers about something you could have complained about long ago if you were truly not informed and not happy about.

Just so you know the bounceback is out and it included the plus dining.

I didn't know, many thought they would only offer the new CSDDP, are they offering this now to the people on free dining? Can you book a value or do you have to get a mod or deluxe? Plus dining is that the regular 2007 DDP or DxDDP? Also are they leaving a flier in the rooms like last year?

In the terms and conditions of everyone's Disney reservation, under General Conditions and Responsibility it says "Terms and conditions are subject to change by Disney without notice."

I have several client reservations in front of me and they all say the same thing. You were not deceived in any way. When you purchased your vacation, you agreed to the terms.

I will never understand the complaints = free stuff phenomenon that occurs with Disney.

Well, that puts that to end now doesn't it.

OP you booked a 2008 trip in 2007 so you are subject to the rules of 2008. B/c what your saying would also mean that you should only have to pay the resort prices for 2007 as well because that's the year you booked it in, and not be subject to the 2008 increases. Doesn't work that way...but free dining is still a great deal!
