We're planning to book a bounceback on our next trip. Can we book more than one room for a bounceback? Like, can I book one room under my name and my husband book one under his?

Every adult in the room can book a bounce back reservation. In addition to that, you can book three rooms. We booked a bounceback that included one room for us, one for our son and one for my sister.

Oh, great! We want to book a room for our family and my sister and her kids. Can we put her name on the second room we book or does it have to be one of us?

You would put her name on the second room.

When we've done this in the past, we had to put one room in my name and the other in my wife's name. I have been told every time that only guests currently on the reservation can book a bounceback.

Yes, I book the bounceback, 2 rooms, 6 guests and name the 3 guests in each room. I am allowed to bring whoever I want with me and I need 2 rooms, as the resorts typically only sleep 5 (unless you get a suite, which I dont). Our reservations are linked, but each room has a different confirmation number.

Sorry for the dumb question. Is a bounceback email random after a visit? If so, about how much time between check out and the offer? Thank you!
The offer is typically in your resort room, in with info on the resort. More times than not, I dont get the "pamphlet" in my room, so if I am planning a trip for the following year, I need to ask at the desk before I check out. Ive done bounceback twice. Most times I know I wont be there again within a year.

Similar to this...they change all the time...

No, bouncebacks are special offers they offer onsite guests. There's a flyer in your room usually to advertise it. It's usually free dining or room discounts. It's not an email or something you get offered after check out.

Whether or not you get the booklet in your room, if you want information on the bounceback offer, don't rely on the front desk for information. Call ext 8844 from your room phone. That is the dedicated future stay offer phone line. The front desk & regular reservation line CMs have been known to tell you there is no offer, or that they have never heard of such a thing. Sadly, people have posted about missing out because they were given bad info by resort CMs.

Remember, you have to be a current guest to book. So call before you leave. And the line can be busy, so I make sure to not leave it for check out morning.

Thanks everyone. I assumed it was after the fact, and didn't see anything that stood out with the resort information. Now I know for another time (whenever that is ):confused3

It's not something they promote and it's not unusual to not have info in your room. I wouldn't know about it if it weren't for disboards!

And a deposit needs to be made before you check out. $200 for a package, or the equivalent of 1 night room rate for room only reservations. You can change/modify your reservation when you get home, but you need to make a dummy reservation before you leave.

Thanks again everyone. We checked out yesterday (missing a new shirt, sweets, and some DD clothes from the hotel room, but that is another saga) thank you all for the great information!

I booked two rooms last November- one in my name and one in my husband’s, who wasn’t with me. I wasn’t sure I’d be allowed to, but they did it. I wonder what the correct policy is.

Me too. It wasn't an issue for us. Each time we booked 2 rooms my wife and I were each a lead guest on a room even though my SIL and family were in the 2nd room. Worked out fine. :confused3

This was not my experience ... summer 2016 there were three of us in a room. Friends 1 & 2 each booked 3 rooms for the following August and I booked two for the following September. (Two separate big group trips!) This was done over multiple phone calls and, come to think of it, a split stay. In each case, we booked one room with the current resident as the lead guest, and then the other room(s) with another person - none of whom were traveling with us. In several of the cases, we (original party members) were staying alone in one room, and in one case, staying in a room with a non-original party member.

So it sounds like YMMV!

The correct policy is that you can book a bounceback offer for up to 3 rooms, as long as someone currently at a resort does the booking and is in one of the rooms. I have been told this while booking, I have done this and I know 2 people who planned a large family reunion and decided to go to Disney for just a one night to get the bounceback and use it on 6 rooms for the reunion. Saved almost $8K total on the 6 rooms and they only spent $600 being there for the one night (flights included)

It is great that they are finally letting you do this. In the past, as recently as Sept 2016, they didn’t do that. My DH & I were there in Sept 2016 & booked a bounceback for Dec 2017 (free dining). There was one room for us & 1 room for my DS & DDIL. We had to book one room on my name with DDIL in with me. Then 1 room for DH with DS in with him. It was all kinds of annoying trying to plan & make fastpasses etc.

Then at check in, the CM had to go into the office & get help to move everyone into the right rooms. It took forever & the dining plans got screwed up, so spent more time getting that fixed. We had to do the same thing years before when we went with our DD & SIL. But that was before FP & they moved everyone with less issues back then. I think I read they changed it late in 2016, after we had booked ours. Probably to free up CMs from spending forever fixing room occupants at check in.

I'm confused, been misled, or just plain unlucky. Aren't bouncebacks just for within the calendar year of your stay? I know I've read the info and gotten discouraged, and another time read the info and actually called--only to be told the offer was only good until December of that year.

Now, I have a trip in July 2018. I already know I want to book a trip for February 2019--should I try for a bounceback when I'm there this summer? Is it possible to book beyond the calendar year?
