I agree with the pp that it really depends on the situation.

If you go during free dining and KNOW you want to come back the next year, and you love "free" dining, then yeah I would say it's worth it! That way you lock in free dining at the resort of your choice (of those offered) without having to wonder if they will offer it again or if availability will be there.

Also, one thing to remember is that you don't lose your deposit if you cancel within the time frame, which in my opinion is fairly generous.

I can't really think of a bad reason to book a bounce back unless someone truly can't afford it, and won't cancel in the future even though they know that, and it causes stress to them/their family. Other than that - I can't really think of a time where it's a "bad" idea to book one.

Obviously a person/family has to have the plan to go back within the time frame of the bounce back offer. Otherwise - no it doesn't make sense.

Not sure I'm understanding your question. Bounceback offers are only given to onsite guests. If you're planning another trip anyway, and your dates fall within the offer period, why wouldn't you book it? Oftentimes, the bouncebacks cover more dates, have more availability, and are higher (for room only offers) than the general public discounts.

for us yes... we booked a 35% off bounce back last December for this December and no other deal was as good. The free dining offer for the same time did not work for us... if we had more adults that would have been the better deal.

You essentially have two primary options when it comes to discounts at Disney:

1. Free dining, in which you have to pay rack rates for the room and also have to buy at least 2 days of tickets from Disney;

2. A discount off the room, so you pay less than rack rate (this is known as a "room only discount").

You have to do the math and determine which one saves you more, and determine whether having the dining plan is of value to you. Free dining isn't really free, since you're paying for it by paying rack rate for your room.

It really depends on your situation. The cost of the room as well as the number of people in the room. FD is a pretty good deal if you have 4 in a room and are in a moderate. That generally is the best value for us. WE do the math and pick which works for us.

As others have said it depends. If you have 5 people saying in a value resort, free dining would be a better value than a room discount. If you have 2 people staying in a deluxe resort, the room discount is a better value. If it's in between those 2 extremes you'll have to do some math to figure it out.

For example I'm staying in a cabin at Ft. Wilderness soon. Even though it's a moderate, it's price is close to a deluxe cost. There are only 2 of us and we don't like having to eat table service daily, so for us the room discount was a better deal than free dining.

However, in a couple of years I'm taking my sis-in-law & her family. 4 of them, all adults by Disney's definition (2 adults 2 teenagers) will be in 1 Pop Century room. In that case I will go with free dining. Those teenage boys can eat a lot and since we are at a value resort it's quick service dining so we don't have to waste time at table service.

Usually value resorts get 15-20% off whereas deluxe gets 30-35% off. So it all depends on where you stay and how many people are in the room and also how much you eat - the dining plans include a LOT of food.

I just returned from Disney last week and booked the free dining bounce back offer. For our family it is a no brainer. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 1 "Disney adult" and 2 children) staying at a moderate (POR). The dining plan costs more per day than the room. We wanted to go the end of August anyway and always eat one table service a day. It makes it a very affordable week to Disney.

Heck yeah they are worth it!! (speaking about the free dining offer) For us, it matches the best discount Disney offer, Free Dining.

The bounce back free dining offer is the same as the regular free dining offer. However, with bounce back free dining, more resorts/rooms may be available with the offer. Both the regular and bounce back FD offers make you pay full rack rate. We stay moderate or value resorts, so any room discount saves us very little compared to free dining, especially now that two of our kids are consdered Disney adults on the dining plan.

For us it's worth it, because eating at all the cool table service locations at WDW has become just as much a part of our vacation as anything else. It's VERY hard for us to imagine not dining the way were are used to at WDW. We've had FD every year. Having to pay OOP or pay for the meal plan would stink. The regular dining plan for our family is over $2000. That's just stupid crazy. If FD wasn't offered, it most likely would keep us from visiting due to the amount we would need to pay for meals.

We have a FD bounceback booked for next year.

It has been for us. FD always saves us more money than the room discount.

We were able to get free dining at POFQ and that was wonderful because we otherwise would have probably never had a chance to stay there.

For my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 Disney Adults) then it is worth it. We booked Free Dining BB for next August at POFQ, they seem to have stopped offering free dining in August, and we definitely save more money then booking a room discount and paying for meals out of pocket.

How do bounce back offers work for military? For instance, we have a military deal at CBR for 2015 (I believe it was 35% off for the room). We have the DDP, but don't have to buy park tix as part of our package (since military can get deeply discounted 4-day Salute tix). If we are offered a bounce back deal for 2016, would we have to purchase park tix through Disney (ie, not have the option to purchase Salute tickets (assuming the Salute deal is extended through 2016)?

Re: Bounce Back. Do you have to book bounce back at the same hotel? We'll be down in a few weeks, at the GF. Can I book the Boardwalk for next year on a BB offer? If so, do we actually have to go to the Boardwalk to book it or can we book the Boardwalk at the GF or is it simply a phone call?
