i know the answer is probably a big fat no but I literally got off the dream today and I am looking for thanksgiving 2018 and I figured it was blocked out but I got home and actually read the fine print and it's not. I guess I am out of luck for the bounce back even though I was on a ship today.....

Correct.

In order to take advantage of the onboard booking deals, you have to book while on board.

Sorry!!

Big time fail we were booked on a royal boat that week and planned to do the place holder when we go again in December to give us a sold 24 months to go again but after we got off took a real bad look at the magic since we don't have to fly. Cost is about 30% more but that's all the time. Oh well it's only money lol and Disney gets most of mine.

Was that your first Disney cruise? We didn't book a placeholder our first Disney cruise in 2012 and a few weeks after the cruise we got the OBB offer in the mail. Disney makes magic happen so maybe you will get that, as well!

You can call and ask, we had unusual circumstances that they made a one time exception and let us, but your mileage may vary.

If you don't ask, the answer is automatically no, but if you ask, the answer could be yes, but.t it could be no and you are no worse off than you are now, but you at least can say you tried.

It's been years since I've seen anyone report getting one of those "after you get back home" offers. Probably around the time they stopped the Kids Sail Free and instituted the last minute *GT system.
Like I said, I called, explained the circumstances and asked and they said yes, this was about a year ago. It won't work for everyone, but you can try.

Well, just a guess, but there is likely a difference between "circumstances" and "I didn't bother to read the fine print and have non-buyer's remorse".

OK, but it wasn't the same thing as the offer that would randomly be sent to first time cruisers after they got back home. I'm just saying that particular offering seems to have gone bye-bye.

Possibly, but my point was spending 10 minutes on the phone for a chance at saving hundreds of dollars is worth the shot, no matter how remote of a chance it may be.

And they did have a special department dedicated to these exceptions, it was called something like post cruise on board booking sales, so it can't be completely unheard of.

first call was unsuccessful but that was just to the main number....do you know how to get to the post cruise department?

now i am on hold with trying to talk to a "supervisor" its been at least 5 minutes so far so we will see this person wanted help way more then other person

ok he said they are on separate systems now and they cant do it blah blah blah but he told me to email dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com and they might be able to do it though the boat. so i did also he said i should have gotten a card in my room to do a placeholder....i remember that from a 2015 cruise but i never got a card in my room this cruise so he said tell them that maybe they can help you out.....so we will see what they respond with....i mean i am off the boat 3 days they should do it.....i mean lets be honest there is no reason they can't i could see if it was 6 months...

The problem with this line of thinking is where is the cut off point of, "it's only x days?" If they do it for you at 3 days, what about 4, then 5, and so on. How pissed are you going to be if you read on here that they did it for someone at 8 days after they got back but they won't do it for you at 9 days? It's only 1 day different right? Once you make one exception, then all credibility goes out the window.
