When I went to France (the real one) there were little places everywhere that sold ham and cheese sandwiches. I Loved Those Things! Do you know if the ones at Epcot are as good?

Well the ham and cheese croissants at the bakery are ok once they heat them up....probably not as good as what you had

Once I started thinking about this question, I realized how silly it was. :upsidedow

:rotfl:, yeah the food in Epcot's France doesn't taste like the food in France. That doesn't mean you still can't enjoy it; just don't expect to be able to compare it. I've actually found some things at Epcot that I liked better.

Wow, I'm rather surprised at the negative opinions. While I've never been to the real France, my family really likes the ham & cheese croissants in Epcot. Boulangerie Patisserie is always a must-do for lunch for us. The croissants we've had are very good. We also love the sweets, as they are light, not rich & heavy.

I have been to the real france and while the food is not as tasty as you would find at a real Boulangerie, I will say the ham and cheese crouisant is yum!
I think it is the best item they have. Most of the other pastries are sad in comparison.
Be sure they heat it up!

Why are you surprised? As authentically French as Epcot's France tries to be, it's just not actually France, that's all. I agree with those who said that the ham/cheese baguettes at Epcot are incomparable with those available in France. The available items at Epcot's France are yummy, no question, but they're not the same as those you can get in the actual country kwim?

Trust me on this, dh and I have tried unsuccessfully many times to replicate those baguettes and it simply can't be done anywhere except in France, in our opinion. It's different flour, different water, different altitude, different diet for the pigs and the cows, etc. - everything that is different changes the taste and/or quality.

OP:
The items on the menu at the Patisserie are delicious - enjoy! :goodvibes

1) The grub is good.
2) But, definitely not as good as in France.
3) We are there once per quarter, and there is simply no comparison.
4) Remember, Epcot food is Americanized to one extent or another.

I'ts not the Croque Monsieur you remember but it's a tasty ham and cheese sandwich. A nice snack/lite meal before you partake of some liquid refreshment like an adult slushie, some wine or champagne.
I think their sweet offerings are the best things at the Boulangerie Patisserie

That's so sad! I love those sandwiches!:lovestruc

Oh well, I guess until I talk DH into a trip to France, Epcot will have to do. :) Thanks for all the replies! I'm glad I won't set myself up for something that I'm not going to get.
