bought something at a garage sale...has an explosive ink tag!

When we were first married, DH purchased a Steif bunny for me in Epcot as a surprise and had it shipped to our house. Unfortunately, they left the security tag on his ear. My mom was wrapping it and noticed the tag, so DH called the store in Germany and they told him to take it to Penney's as they had the same type of security sensors and would be able to remove it. My mom took it to the store with the receipt and bunny and all was well.

Now I check everything I purchase carefully, especially when I am away from home...

Plenty of times I have bought things and gotten home and the ink tag was still on. I just go to a store that takes them off, like Stage, and explain and they usually just take it off.

My friend bought a jacket at a garage sale for $1...Got it home and it has an explosive ink tag on it! Is it just garbage?

I seem to always get the clerk who does not remove them...every major shopping trip, I come home with atleast one.

Go to youtube, there are lots of videos on how to remove them.

Here is what I do...I start over the kitchen sink with the security device on the bottom. I put a pliers in between the item and the tag, use a screw driver on the other side to pry it off.

It takes some time 5-8 minutes.

I have never had one explode or leak ink. I did have one release a smell (???), toxic scent however, it did not damage the item.

One time I had a big meeting to attend, business formal. I have never had any clothes of this nature...shopped for days, finally found a suit.

Day of the meeting, put it on and it feels awkward/heavy....low and behold, there it is hanging off the back of my jacket. It is 6am and I need to be at the meeting at 9am and Macy's is not open. This is how the bad luck began!
