Woohoo! :cool1:

Can't find a fax machine near me so I'm just going to send the contract note and application form in the post today!

Including the transaction fee with Halifax it cost me less than £80! Not bad considering when I looked into it a few years back it was £170!

Hope I get my proper card in time for my trip (6 weeks 3 days away) but if not, I'll have to make do with the temporary one.

Yey! :dance3:

How long did it take for the passcode to come in the end? I'm thinking about sorting it out on Thursday when the OH gets paid but I don't want to waste the money if I don't have time to sort it all out (5 weeks and 6 days today for us!)

I think I applied for it on Wednesday and got it on Saturday.

I am really surprised by just how easy it was to buy the shares and apply for the club. Think I'd got it into my head that it was a really complicated process! :rotfl2:

ETA: I would apply for the account today, I did mine before I actually had the funds to put in it! I just transferred the funds over once I was able to login on Saturday.

I thought you had to pay the £100 in straight away to open it? I'm sure it asked for the account details on the application.

It does ask for the account details but it didn't actually take any money. Once I got my password I then authorised the payment transfer.

Very strange, just went through it all and it set the account up straight away. Doesn't mention a password to be posted and I can log straight in. Obviously the payment I set up declined so I'll pay that in thursday and hopefully be good to go!

How weird is that? Others have mentioned not having to receive a password. Maybe I am just dodgy! :lmao:

Mine set up right away and didn't need to wait for a password letter. I can't understand why some do and some don't.

I do have online banking already with Halifax so perhaps that's why??

If not then yes Helen they must think you're a dodgy dealer!! :rotfl:

Congratulations :goodvibes

Have you thought about emailing it over if you have access to a scanner? I did this and everything went through ok.

Also, it might mean you'd be able to take advantage of the VIP fastpass perk if it falls within your dates.

unfortunately not :sad2: - you have to be a shareholder on or before the 18th April 2012 to get the VIP fastpasses.

Oh, that's a shame - sorry if I've raised your hopes HappyPanda :guilty: No doubt you knew anyway and had read everything properly - unlike me ;)

Technically I wasn't a member until the 20th and it let me!

did you get allocated your number when you called, or was it already done but they hadn't sent it out yet?

although, looking at my shareholders card, it doesn't specify a date of joining/renewing, just a month and year, so possibly (if they don't check the shareholders club joining dates when issuing the VIP fastpasses at Salon Mickey) if you have a shareholders card/letter and its dated from April 2012, any date up to the end of April may work?

No, I honestly think they'd not done anything with my membership as I had to re-fax my details.

I can see the member events tab and it's in there (i think, not logged in right now)

I don't think the site is really fancy enough to be able to differentiate between when your account was set up etc.

Of course I may be wrong, and the lady might have put my membership date in a back end as the date I applied, as that was well before the 18th.

I'm pretty sure it'll work for new members though from what I've seen. :)

is there a thread that explains how you buy shares on here ??

its our 5 year anniversary in June and it will be 5 years next March since we first went to dlrp together so we thought about getting shares as a joint anniversary present :lovestruc

i bank with halifax already - is it easy to set up an account with them and do you need the money to pay in straight away ? (its dd's 14th tomorrow and after one direction tickets and anything else to do with them the bank of mum and dad is empty this month :lmao:)

I emailed it through earlier and went out in the pouring rain to post it on my lunch! :rotfl:
