Bought a mobile car cleaning for 75% OFF...:thumbsup2

So far it was easy... Lets see if the service works out...

I've had very good luck with Groupons. I love it when they have Fandango deals. My daughter got all of her friends to buy them so that they could order cheap tickets for Harry Potter. I've also bought them for wine tastings, ice cream parlors, spa treatments and restaurants. I've never had a problem redeeming any of them.

Just a little added savings if you have a Discover card and you go through their website I think you save an additional 10% that is added to you money back rebate.

We got that too this morning!!! :thumbsup2

I'm embarassed to admit that we weren't sure at first about the logistics of someone coming to you to clean and detail your vehicle (ie, how would they get your car cleaned and rinsed?). But we're assuming that they drive those trucks with the big water tanks on the back. ? LOL

I work in Chesterfield Valley, plan on having them come here...

They actually were doing a couple cars last week across the street... Don't know if it was the same company, but they used full sized vans...

I'm a fan....unbelievable savings. I got $50 worth of Bensi (Italian dinner) for $4 (was given a first time $20 savings on top of the other savings.) Also just got half price concert tickets. I'm hooked. Great way to promote local businesses or events that I would not normally shell out the money for...it's win/win.

I was looking at one deal yesterday for a massage but chickened out.

I'm not sure what I was afraid of! :confused3

I've subscribed to them for about 6 months and bought one Groupon, which worked perfectly. Almost all of the options here are for what I consider luxuries (LOTS of spa treatments and expensive restaurants), so I haven't found it of great use for us.

I've bought 3 so far. One was the Fandango deal and like a PP said, we will use it for Harry Potter. I also bought a Plato's closet one, pay $10 get $20 worth of merchandise. I used that one last week, DD got 2 new to her pairs of jeans and it came to $19.69 - I didn't have to spend an extra penny.
They are great for trying restaurants and salon services

A fellow DISer turned me on to them last year when we were vacationing in Florida. I bought one for a boat rental for 2 1/2 hours in Fort Lauderdale for something like $40. It was great!

Since then I've bought many of them for restaurants, and of course the Fandango ones. I've never once had a problem redeeming them.

If you like Groupons, check out the similar deals on LivingSocial.com and Dealfind.com. It is the same type thing. I've used all of them before and have never had a problem with any of them.

My DH bought a bunch of golf ones in the spring. I actually think he needs to play a little more so he uses them all. We also do a lot of restaurants with Groupon. I bought an anti-aging facial to use for when I turn 40 - which is soon!:scared1:

The first one I bought was for a local Indian restaurant that my fiance and I pass by all the time; we kept saying, "We really need to try that place." So when I saw the Groupon, I jumped on it. Great way to try out a new place without spending a ton of money!

The night we went, the host right away asked if we had a Groupon. And apparently we weren't the only ones - the couple at the next table was using one as well.

I just bought another Groupon for yet another restaurant we keep saying we have to try. It's a bit of a drive, though, but the Groupon will be a nice incentive!

I've gotten some great deals through Groupon. :woohoo:But, REMEMBER: it's still BUYER BEWARE. Groupon only negotiates the deal. If the business is a crappy business, it's still going to be a crappy business. If it doesn't normally offer the services or items you want, that is not going to change because of the Groupon.

One poster here complained about her Groupon because the restaurant wasn't opened on the day she wanted to have lunch. It was HER fault for not going to the company's website FIRST and reading about the company and if it indeed is what she wanted beyond the great price. (She did admit later, after she got over her disappointment, that the price was so great, and being near her work, she punched the button & bought before fully checking out the restaurant.. )

Read the fine print of the Groupon, read all the Groupon discussion comments posted, (they sometimes really clarify the details of the deal,) and then go to the company's website and read about the company before pulling the trigger. :surfweb:
