Bought a package, now one person can't go!

My 2 daughters and 2 of their friends bought a resort, park hopper, and dining plan package for the week between Christmas and New Year and now one of them can't go. Unfortunately my daughter paid for the whole amount and that person that can't go didn't pay her. If they found someone to take that persons place is that okay? I know his name is on the magic band but can't it be changed or can the new person just go a him?
 
You can modify a package. Just call Disney. There is a $50 change fee after the paid-in-full date, but they usually waive that if the price goes up. I'm not sure if they'll waive it if the price doesn't change. There's an additional expedite fee in the last two weeks, so you need to take care of this pretty quickly.
 
The new person can go and use the tickets, FPs, and MagicBand. There is no need to change the name in the MDE Profile.

If she can't find a replacement, the tickets can be used in the future and the pre-booked FPs can still be used during the upcoming trip. The MB only needs to be tapped at the FP lines to use the FPs.
 
If she finds a new person, they don't really need to change the name. They certainly can, but they may charge the $50 change fee.

You can also just take the person who isn't going off the package - that will incur the $50 fee.
 

This is not hte first time someone in a group suddenly didnt' make it. Call them up, they will help you sort out options and might even have a new discount to not only remove the person but save everyone else even more money.

NOTE: if your arriving in less than 3 days and have anything like a food plan I would strongly recommend not changing anything until you get there. Some things take 3 days to properly activate (mainly the food plan)

This is only relevant if you are adding something to a reservation. You are, possibly, taking someone off the reservation. It needs to be dealt with by calling Disney prior to checking into the resort.

My son in law couldn't go on the trip at the last minute so we called Disney to see if we just remove him and add someone else in his place. They said that they would charge a fee to make any changes, so we told them to forget that we called. We didn't want to pay the fee so we just left his name on the reservation. We have been using his ticket for fastpasses. He'll be able to use it later.
