At DH insistence I bought a scooter to compliment my power chair. He would like to use his sedan to travel more and not to always need to use my van. I don't find the scooter as comfortable but it wont be my daily means of transport. We will be driving (in DH car) to PA this weekend. But I've been thinking about taking the scooter to WDW via plane next January. It is a Pride REVO small compact with self contained battery pack. The company couldn't tell what I needed to do to take it on the plane. Does anyone have experience with taking an ECV on the plane. Do I need to have it package before hand or can I gate check it? I thinking I could save a few $$$ if I didn't need to rent from off-site. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

We haven't traveled with DD's power wheelchair on an airplane yet, but our equipment person said that sealed batteries don't need any special packaging. He also suggested we contact the airline because they might have some special rules. I'd think the same advice would go for scooters.

I went to Pridemobility.com to have a look at your new wheels. Very nice. I noticed there is a link on their website to a user's forum. I bet you could get some opinions there too and you could also email Pride and ask your questions.

Thanks Sue. I should have thought of the Web page. Some days too much thinking to do!LOL

I don't have any experience to help with your questions/concerns, but I hope you make good use of your new scooter!

Congrats on the scooter! You'll have to show us a picture of you w/ your new toy :)
