I purchased a Snow White costume off of Ebay last week and received it in the mail last night.
Here's a pic of what I had bid and won...

Here

But she sent us this one...

here

I messaged her telling her she sent us the wrong one and I'd like to have the one we actually won and that I wanted her to pay for us to return the dress then for her to send it back on her dime. She replied with... "Hi I am very sorry which one did you receive was it the extra fancy one with the silky skirt?"

The one we received does sell for a higher price but the one we wanted was more fru-fru.

What would u do? Does anyone own either of these dresses? I can't find them on the internet at all to do any research.
Also my daughter tried on the dress before I realized that we got the wrong dress so the tag has been taken off, would it be better to just keep it? She loves it and doesn't care which one she has but to me it's the fact that it seems like the seller doesn't really care that she sent the wrong dress and is now trying to butter us up with the "Extra Facy" in her reply.
I'm not trying to bad talk the seller I just don't know what to do, I've been ebaying for years and have never gotten an item "Like" what we ordered
Thanks so much everyone!!! =)

It was probably just a mix up with the seller. You know if you're packing up and shipping a lot of stuff at once those things can happen. If your daughter loves the dress you got and you don't really care then I'd just keep it. Otherwise, ask the seller to send you the other one and that you'll send the other back. I don't know what I'd do about shipping the one you got back. I'd be inclined to just eat the shipping and send it the cheapest route but I guess it would depend on how the seller responded to your request.

if your DD doesn't care and you are not getting an inferior product than what you won, I'd just keep it. But that's because I'm lazy and wouldn't want to have to go to the post office to return it lol!

I actually like the 2nd one better.

If dd is happy with it, I would probably just keep it...less trouble that way. of course, if you prefer the one you purchased I think the seller should be reponsible for rectifying the situation, since it was her mistake.

I agree. If your dd likes it, and you don't really care I'd just let it be. Personally I like the one you picked out better, but if neither of you really care, then I probably wouldn't spend the energy sending it back ect.

If the DD likes it then save yourself the time and energy of swapping dresses. I actually like the one you received BETTER than the one you bid on. I have seen versions of both dresses in person ( My friends' daughters play a lot of disney dress up) and the one you actually got is a better quality and will probably hold up better against wear and tear.

Thanks so much Jamoky!
She is happy with what she has and I wasn't sure which one was really better. I was thinking with all the tulle (or whatever it is on the dress that we had bid on) that it might rip easier than the one we got.

Thanks so much for the help everyone! I guess we're keeping the dress we were sent =) I think if I change it now my daughter might be disappointed.

Definitely like the 2nd one better. It looks like a better quality product than the one you bid on. Plus, from experience, I know how itchy that tulle can be on little girl legs and I try not to buy costumes that have a lot of it to keep my nieces and daughter happy.

Hope your daughter enjoys her new dress!!!

P.S. There are several reasons why you might have received this dress instead. A) She accidentally posted a photo of one that she no longer had and sent you one she did. B) Like another poster said, she could have accidentally packed up the wrong dress by mistake.

I like the 2nd one better too - it looks like better quality. We actually have the one in the listing, and DD won't wear it for long because it's very itchy. If your daughter likes it, I'd keep the one you have! :goodvibes

Hopefully someone didn't get the "inferior" dress by mistake, though. That would be my only thought. However, that would be up to the seller to deal with, not you.

If the seller sent you the wrong item and you find it satisfactory then the seller has these choices:

1. First sending you the correct item and postage for return of the wrong item,

2. Leaving things as-is.

I like the one you got better than what you ordered. But personally, I hate returning stuff, especially if I would have to go to the post office. So I would just keep it, especially if your daughter likes it. If it's not itchy, then that's a huge plus. A lot of costumes are!
