and thought we bought a decent one (spent enough!!!) but we are SO NOT happy with it now....

It feels like one side of the couch has already given - like you're sinking down in it - & the back cushion you can run your hand over the fabric & kinda feel lumps like it stuffed with cotton balls or something.....

Have any of you had a problem like this with something like a couch? What do I do?? Do I go into the store & talk to the owner or do I call first or is this something where I'm just out of luck? Can't believe there's problems with it & it's only a few months old! :confused3

I would check to see if you have a warranty. it sounds like it may be defective.

:confused3 what brand is it? where did you buy it at? :listen:

The fabric is piling. That won't be covered by warranty. Fabric does that from wear. Some fabrics more than others. If it really bothers you, you can use a sweater shaver on it.

NO, the fabric isn't piling...it's the stuffing inside that feels like it's not right...

Where do I find out if I have a warranty? I dont' remember reading anything like that on the seat?

BOught it @ a nice furniture store about 30 miles from here - they carry all the top of the line (Hendredon, Bernhardt--though I didnt' buy that brand) I'll have to go look @ the brand name under the cushion - it's something with house or hill in the name.....

HMMMM....maybe on the tag under the cushion it will mention warranty info on the filling....hmmm---gonna go check there!

I would call the store or manufacture.

It should be on your receipt.

Call the store. We had a problem with a couch and they sent a man out to the house to fix it. They had to special order the fabric and it took the guy about 3 hours to replace the one side and arm and replace the fabric, but it costs us nothing...all covered under warranty. And this service came from a warehouse place, not a "good" furniture place.

Sorry, the way I read your original post I thought you were referring to the fabric itself.

I hope the store can do something for you. Good luck. Was just trying to help.

ok - just checked - the tag under the cushion says nothing about a warranty & naturally neither does the seat....

It is by HIckory HIll (paid $1,020 w/tax)....

It has Sunbrella fabric on it - that's not SUPPOSED to stain - yet of course we've got a stain we havent' gotten rid of yet (but I've only tried cleaning it with the spot bot so far & it hasn't clean it yet)

ANYWAY....

So I guess I'll call the store on MOn....or would it be better to drive over there & talk to them in person??? Of course it's not like they can make any decsions without looking at it...but I just wonder what's the best way to handle things...AND will they do anything about it? I'm guessing starting with the store is what to do NOT the manufacturer??? What do you think?

Find your receipt, Check to see if you purchased a warranty or if the store warranties it for any time. This info should be on your paperwork.

We're waiting for our broyhill sofa to be delivered, and by god at the price we paid for it, it better last 20 years. Dang thing cost an arm and a leg. *nods* But it has a 10 year warranty.

We had major problems with a Lane sectional we bought last year. All the seams started coming apart within 4 months of getting it. We called the furniture store and they contacted a Lane repairman who came down and decided the whole thing needed replacing. It took 12 more weeks to make so we got a brand new one when that came in. I would definitely call the store where you got it. They will know who to put you in touch with. I am sure you are still under a manufactures warranty. It sounds defective.

Did you keep the tags? The warranty information should be on there. Even if it isn't under warranty, a couch should not show wear after only 4 months. Call the store and have them start working on the problem for you. They should stand behind what they sell.

I used to work for the company that owns Hickory Hill furniture. Call the store and tell them what happened. Your furniture should have a pretty good warranty on it.
I know for their regular brand, they have a 1 year warranty on fabric and a lifetime warranty on the frame. Not sure about the cushions and stuffing/padding, but it's only a few months old. If you don't get satisfaction from the store, call the manufacturer.
