These stores are starting to pop up in my area and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I have only gone twice and have gotten some deals, but other things seem a little more pricey.

They seem to have a dozen eggs for .88 cents regularly where Aldi's price has been $1.29. But name brand snack cakes like Drakes or Hostess are much higher than I could get them for at Walmart or Shop Rite on sale. I haven't really compared the prices on their store brands versus Aldi or their prices on other staple items.

Can anyone share what they think are good deals here and what is not so good?

The store seems nice and clean and their meat section and produce looks a lot nicer than Aldi. I love Aldi but will shop around for bargains.

Also, anyone ever work for them or any of their parent companies? They are hiring and I'm considering applying for a part time job- maybe cashiering or something along those lines. Anyone know if they are a good company to work for and how well they pay?

I have gone once, and haven't been back. The prices I thought were fair but Walmart and Target are cheaper on a lot of items. I guess if there wasn't so many other options for low prices on food in my area, I would go back. The chocolate ring cake for $3.99 was ok, but nothing special. That was the only item I bought that was exclusive to their store.

They're currently building one about a mile down the road from me. I'll give it a try, but if the prices are the same as Target (and I'm lucky enough to live near a Target Greatland), I'll probably stick with Target.

I have one very close to my work! I just buy the weekly specials though! Mainly if they have coke products on sale (me and dh's weekness - diet coke)

I was just there!

They have sent me a total of 8 coupons for $ 10 off of $ 20. Who wouldn't shop there! Now, after the coupons are done (I have one left) I may shop for certain things if I'm nearby. The open store is across town, but near my DH's work so if I'm over there I'll go. I doubt I would make a special trip. They are building another one a mile away, near the Shoprite I shop at.

Milk is 2.80, Shoprite is 3.89, Sav a lot is 3.19. I like their store brand bread, it's fresher than Shoprite or Sav a lot. Smart Ones are 1.82 and 2.50, shredded cheese is cheap, eggs are cheap.

But you really need to know your prices since a lot of things are more expensive than if you get them on sale anywhere else. The selection isn't great, I've never tried their meats. It was really hard one trip to find 20 to spend, even if it was half off.

Wow, those are great coupons you got!! They sent me 4 for $5 off $25- each one good for a different week. I wonder how they decide who gets them? I had signed up for their shopper card a few months back when we stopped into the store, but we didn't really buy much at that time- just a couple things. Hadn't been back until I got the coupons and I've only used one week so far with two left to go.

I do get their email with their specials each week and they seem really good. The closest store just isnt close enough for me to run just for those things, though. Can't wait for the store closer to me to open up so I can go more often, if even just for the loss leaders. Hope they still send me special offers/coupons since I didn't use all of them this time.

I have two that are very close to me. I usually only go for the weekly specials and when they send out the $10 off a $20 purchase. Prices on eggs and butter are pretty good.

I have one near me and I go for the case of water $2.49. I also buy their eggs, shredded cheese, yogurt, and specials. I feel that most of their items are comparable to other stores and some are a little higher. I don't make a special trip for just one item.
