Bottle Washing

It's funny to me to hear about others who's little ones don't like the Take 'n Toss sippy cups. Those are the only ones I can get my ds to use! We also use the disposable Bibsters. I like them because they don't take up a little less space in the bag and you just toss them when you're done. I don't use them often, just at WDW mainly. I also bought some of the Tabletoppers which my ds just saw as a challenge and spent the entire mealtime trying to tear it off the table. Before I bought those, I would carry some antibacterial wipes and wipe down the part of the table ds was sitting at as well as the edge and underneath the edge to minimize any germs he may come into contact with. He used to try and eat the end of the table too. You can also wrap the Tabletopper over the top edge of the table and stick the bottom edge to the edge of the table.
HTH!

Pampers makes a GREAT, SAFE, antiseptic
wipe (and spray) for babies!!!
I buy it all the time in the baby section
at Wal-Mart.

My DS has health issues, so I will NEVER
put him in a high-chair or grocery cart without
his shopping cart cover/floppy seat.
And we all know they love to chew the edges
of tables, carts, you name it,
so before he gets anywhere near
a table we wipe it - and don't forget the underside!!
You cannot believe what I've wiped off of there :crazy2:

DH & I get lots of looks, and some restaurant
staff has taken it personally,
but WHO CARES - DS is OUR responsibility.

We became convinced that we weren't
paranoid when we were eating out
and a child threw up all over the
restaurant high-chair.
The family made a feeble attempt to clean
it and then left.
The manager sent out a young guy who
did NOT want to touch it, so he made one
wipe of the seat...
Cut to 2 minutes later another family comes
in, grabs that high chair and puts their
little girl in it - never knowing the mess
she was literally touching with her hands
and feet!

I may start a debate here, but LYSOL brand
and BLEACH wipes are NOT GOOD for children!
I'm not saying I've never used them,
(I have when I'm out of the Pampers spray or wipes),
but it can sicken them if they lick or chew
the item you just wiped.
If you use them, PLEASE rinse or wipe with
a very wet paper towel or washcloth immediately!
The Pampers brand was a Godsend for us
because of having to wipe everything...
I believe it's germ-killer is ethyl alcohol,
which evaporates quickly and the product
is marketed as a safer alternative to Lysol wipes, etc.

Hope this was useful :D

Forgot to mention that Dawn makes
the disposable dishcloths, too!

Hi - I'm new here, but I wanted to share the best eating out thing we've found for DS, 14 months. The Tiny Diner placemat is great. You wash it at home, it sticks to the table, and it has a tray to catch crumbs. Then, you can roll it up, take it home and wash it again. I got it at Target for seven or eight dollars.

I'll be taking it when we go to WDW next month for DS's first haircut!

Very handy.

Also another thought on dish soap-this is what I do every year. I put it in a zip lock bag, but to make sure it doesn't leak in the bag, I cut a piece of a zip lock bag out (or any other heavy plastic) and place it over the top of the bottle, then screw the lid back on. It keeps the soap from all leaking out. It's always worked for me.

However, the dish soap wipes sound like they would probably take up less room in your suitcase.

We use the Tiny Diner, also,
it is GREAT (just forgot to mention it)...
It sticks by suction cups,
and the only drawback we've found
is if the table isn't made of something
very smooth the suction doesn't "take."
But, this is rare - usually a wood table
is the trouble...
