Both Ships In Port Right Now!

While checking the port cam as I do every Sat am I was surprised to see both the Magic and the Wonder. Anybody know what's up??

ITS NOT THE WONDER, IT IS THE NEW HAL SHIP MAANDAM (I THINK THAT IS THE SPELLING) STARTED SERVICE LAST SATURDAY OUT OF PORT CANAVERAL. WE GOT OFF THE MAGIC ON SAT THE 9TH AND MY FAMILY SAW THE SHIP THOUGHT IT WAS THE OTHER DISNEY SHIP ALSO.

The ms Zaandam has a black hull and a more graceful appearance than many of the "floating white brick" cruise ships today.

I can certainly see how, when viewed from the angle on the Web cam this morning, it could be mistaken for the Wonder if you're not expecting another black-hulled ship at Port Canaveral.

When I saw the ship this morning it was docking, and I could see the whole starboard side. With the exception of the funnels, it looks just like the Magic/Wonder! At first I though the Aft funnel was being painted/repaired, then saw the forward funnel was not there. I was really puzzled. I looked REALLY closley and was SURE it was a DCL ship. The life boats, windows, hull all looked just like DCL! Now that I see it from the front I can see it is very different.
I wonder if anyone has been on this ship and if the similarites extend beyong the shape and color. Anyone know??

Royal Caribbean uses Terminal 9/10 on Sundays and Thursdays. Disney's Terminal 8 is the only terminal that is for the exclusive use of one cruise line (although Carnival is currently the only tenant for Terminal 5). BTW, Holland America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carnival.

We just got off the "Magic" today, and it is definitely the Holland America Zaandam ship beside the "Magic". It had it's Maiden voyage from Port Canaveral on November 9-16. It is a nice ship, but not as impressive as the Disney ships. (Although I was not on it to see the inside).

And we had a WONDERFUL week on the Magic. We didn't want to come back to reality. And we travelled through the rain all day to get home. But we did book another Western Cruise for next November!

I sailed on the Zaandam last November on a 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise out of Ft Lauderdale. It was a beautiful ship, but I have never sailed with so many elderly people in my life (I am 48) and I doubt very much that I would ever sail Holland America again. There were only a handful of children on the whole ship. I have also sailed on Disney, Carnival and Costa. I found the evening dining meals to be extremely boring; You ate in the same dining room every night with no entertainment at all. We had the ship's doctor join us at our table on three evenings and he and his wife were very entertaining; and each time he purchased bottles of wine for the table!!! They do have 1 restaurant similar to Palo's..I believe it may have been called the Marco Polo which was excellent.
