Due to some Potter fans in my family, we are going to stop by IOA /US. If we stay at Lowes Royal Pacific one night, we get the free Universal Park Express and early entrance. (which I think we may need after hearing about those lines.) My question is...if we have the park express, can we ride everything in both parks in one day? Just wondering if I need to buy two days or if we can do it all in one day with the two parks in one day pass. Thanks!

Staying one night onsite will give you 2 full days express pass. You can check in very early on the first day even if your room is not ready and that will give you the pass.

If you can do 2 days, not sure what your schedule is, it will be much better as I imagine July to be busy. And to be honest rushing everything in one day is not ideal.

They are 2 fabulous parks, with lots to see and do in both and you will certainly enjoy it more not rushing around. Citywalk is fab as well for restaurants and atmosphere.

The RPR is wonderful I`m sure you will love that as well. :thumbsup2

You would have to rush to do everything in one day, and it may spoil the experience.
It is definitely an option to visit both, but to get on everything I am not sure.

Also need to bear in mind not all the attractions, depending on when you go, open at 9am.
Universal Studios in particular is notorious for rides opening later in the morning, as an example Jaws was 11:30 when we were there in Easter 2009.

No way can you easily do both parks in one day. The only way you could possibly do both is pick your "must do" attractions at each park and not "waste" time doing anything else. You are going to wish you had opted for more days.

You could probably do all the rides in one day if you got lucky. But you'd end up missing out on some of the great shows at the parks.

About 6 months ago there was a great deal offered for 2 parks /1 day. I couldn't pass it up! So,we will get to go to both parks and enjoy whatever we have time for!
