We have always spread our visit to USF and IOA over two days, but this year, we are trying to do them both in one day....2/13/15....it is a Friday and the parks close at 7....we will be there at 9 AM, giving us 10 hours to do both parks. For those of you that have done it before, were you able to get in everything that you wanted to do in one day? We will probably pass on some lesser things that we've done before, to make sure we get to do the major things...and lunch will have to be an eat and run thing....then will end the night with a nice meal at Margaritaville.....sound like a plan ??? :beach:

I think it's fine. We're two adults and did this back in November. We started in Hogsmeade at IOA and did the HP rides that tend to get lines. Then we did the rest of IOA which didn't take us too long, as we were able to skip the kid areas. We then rode Hogwarts Express over to US around noon, and finished out the day at US which took us longer. I don't think we skipped any rides and we finished up right around closing time.

We did a one day 2 park Universal visit back at the end of June 2014. It was an after thought to throw on a universal day at the end of a disney week. I think if you use the single rider line you'll have an even more successful day.

Yes. Depending on the crowds or if heavy if you do the express line or ride single rider when possible. I know the rides I want to go on. I normally go there twice when I'm on vacation so there may be a few rides (Disaster and Twister for example) I will ride once and skip the next time or vice versa. In other words if there are rides you like but don't love maybe you skip one of the trips. Also I have my set path that I take each time so it is ritual for me.

We almost always just do a one day/two park USF. If it is crowded, we buy the express pass option that allows you to bypass the SB lines, same as resort guests. It is well worth the money when you are short on time.

My sister and I are doing both in one day later this week. We're too broke to spring for two days. We were just going to do US since we've already seen Hogsmeade two years ago, but after researching the Hogwarts Express more, we decided we have to do it. Plus, I kept my eyes closed the entire time on Forbidden Journey last time because I was feeling sick, so I really want to actually experience the ride.

Crowd calenders show it to be a "slow" day, so while we know we won't have time for everything, we hope we'll have time to hit a list of about 10 attractions we really want to see. I'll have to keep the tip about using the single-rider line in mind.

We had a limited number of things we wanted to do and did both parks on a mid December day (crowd level 3) and that worked great for us. // We'll just do one day again (both parks) if we go again. Works great for our family.

be there early and hit the highlights of whats on your list.
use the srl to cut time waits for some of the rides.

check for any ride closures when you enter the park.
it's usually listed up front of the park.
if it is on your list of rides, you know it right away.

eat at an off time so you don't have any counter order waiting.

get in line for your last ride a few minutes before park closing and you'll be able to get on the ride even if the park closes.

i know reservations are needed for saturday nights at margaritaville.
friday, not always necessary but make one at open table in case everyone in the park has the same plans as you.

have a fun day there next month!

Try taking some less-drowsy dramamine to counteract that motion sickness.

Thanks. :) It actually wasn't motion sickness. I used to have issues with light sensitivity before I figured out my neurological issues were primarily caused by a B12 deficiency. Good bit of strobe effects on Universal rides, including FJ. I think I should be okay now.
