I got a email from BJ's about this cruise. I don't know if it is a good deal or not. Does anyone know where I can get great prices on cruises or last minute travel prices? Thank you.

Vacations to go is a great site or cruise compete. Also check out travelzoo for deals.

BJ's and Costco give good prices for cruises, especially with all the extra perks. You can check at cruise.com to compare the price.

I like cruisesonly . com

Also, just check that cruiseline's website, many deals I find at these clearinghouse websites match the ones on that cruiseline's website.

Bermuda can be an expensive destination. Even if the cruise is a good price- make sure that your activities will still be within your budget.

I've used Cruisecompete and BJs for this cruise and thought both were fair. I love this cruise because I can drive to Boston, no airfare and you're on one island the whole time. Have fun!

Vacations to go for me. I just booked a cruise last week, and we leave in 9 days. Been using them for 7 years!

I have a question for the cruise experts here. Is last minute the way to go with cruises? Is that usually the time to get the best price?

Thanks.

It depends. If you're going off season, sometimes you can scoop up an amazing deal. But, if you're trying to go while the school kids are out of school (vacations and summertime) the deals are hard to come by and the best price might be booked ahead.

Caveat: I'm no expert.

My DD is going on the Norwegian Breakaway NYC-Bermuda next month. Her aunt is taking her as her HS graduation present. (wish I had a nice aunt like that!) They started planning around Christmas, and booked in March because of a special sale. Price went down twice, and got the discount once, extra freebies the second drop because they already paid. The price has gone up ever since then.
Another person my sister knows is going on the same cruise, booked last week, and is paying MUCH more in the end, because they don't get the special dinners, non alcoholic drinks unlimited or shows included that DD is. They have an outside room, but it's on the same level as DD (who wanted inside) so it's nothing special.

If you have never cruised before and the ship is Norwegian, I would not do it!!
We have cruised them twice and they are like a Motel 6 compared to Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America, Disney. We met people on our cruise who had cruised Carnival and they even said NCL was bad.
On the beach in Bermuda there were 2 NCL ships--one from Boston and one from NY--and both complained about their ship. We were on another and seeing our ship's towels several said they wished they were on our ship.
I call them the Neveragain Cruise Line because SOOOOO many people try them once and say neveragain.
We have cruised about 20 times and I find the best prices on the line's website. Sometimes we do better booking a year ahead and sometimes we have booked a month or so prior and got amazing deals. Book early if you want a certain cabin location or need a cabin for 3 or 4.
Final payment is due 70 days prior to cruise and once that passes if the ship has not sold well prices will drop to the point of selling out.

The aunt that is taking DD on her cruise has sailed on NCL 8 times, RCL 6 times, and has nothing but good things to say for both. Maybe things are different if you have kids, but DD is 18 so they will only be in adult areas.

I agree with Belle......this cruise is awful !! My daughter took this cruise 2 years ago and she said all they did was play bingo and eat gross ham and orange cheese sandwiches on white wonder bread LOL The food was almost non existent and they had little to no entertainment. She could not wait to get off the boat

DH and I did the Boston-Bermuda cruise last summer and it was great. The ship was refurbished in 2011. We had fun onboard and in Bermuda. We booked through Vacation Outlet. I liked that we didn't have to fly to get to the ship. We drove, parked, walked across the street to the ship, and all set.

Did that Boston to Bermuda trip a few years ago on Norwegian and we loved it. My mother had cruised with them before so she received a really good rate by booking directly through them (free cabin upgrade & room credit).

We have booked other trips through Cruise Brothers and gotten good prices also.

I will add that it is fantastic not flying - we had a car service drop us at the terminal and then pick us up after we disembarked. We were home in about an hour. :cool1:
