I just read it online. At least he finally came to his senses.

But he gets to keep a seat on the Turnpike Authority and his $200K+ salary until February...wish I could resign and keep my salary...I think I'll go run that one by my boss :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm glad he resigned. At least the taxpayers don't have to foot the bill for his multiple lawyers any more.

I think it's funny that he finally resigned an hour before he was going to be fired by Romney. Chicken, much?

Seriously, though, after that memo that came out yesterday, Amorello should be ashamed of himself. There's no way he can say he didn't know those tunnels weren't safe. You don't see the Callahan and Sumner caving in. You don't see pieces of the Tobin falling down. It's not like this stuff has never been done before.

:end rant:

At least the taxpayers don't have to pay $70,000 per day for his "defense" anymore.

See ya, Mattie!

I feel bad for that guy that came forward....I think he really blames himself, but it's not his fault nobody listened to him.

I guess I'm a different breed because I would have resigned a couple of days after the accident so the focus could be on making the repairs and not on me. I just couldn't understand why Matt would insist on staying on as the head of the MTA while the focus needed to be on how to fix the problem and not on trying to remove him from office.

I wish I could have a 6 month paid vacation!!!!!!! He will be getting apprx $4,288.00 a week to NOT WORK. Not bad

I felt bad for the guy, Keaveney, too. He came out with the "smoking gun" memo...you know it had to have been REALLY bad for him to put that kind of inflammatory and damning information in writing way back then!!!!

This whole Big Dig is a shame. Anyone in charge at any point should be fired and investigated. Where are the unions? Why havent they come forward? I wonder if theyre planning on putting a "Union Built" sign at the tunnell entrance.

What a sad state of affairs Mass. politics is....and the saddest part....its been this way my whole life.

Hmmmm....how long has Uncle Ted been involved in Mass. politics? Coincidence? I think not. :guilty: :furious: :sad2: :sad1: :worried: :(
