Did you give your boss anything?

Or, if you ARE a boss, did you get anything?

I work in an office that's just me and my boss, an attorney. However, our office is in a building with other small firms in it. We all went to lunch on Wednesday because that was the only day we could all work it in. However, my boss would not let me pay for her lunch. She said boss's day is silly. She just doesn't understand it. I told her it was a day I could really tell her how much I appreciate working for someone as great as she is. She told me that I do that everyday by showing up and doing a great job with a good attitude regardless of how many crying clients I talk to (domestic attorney) or how many changes she makes to the same pleading. She really is great to work with, but just hates to be thanked.

DHs boss is away at an Executive weekend down the shore. I wonder if DH will get any "Boss's Day" cards.

I wonder if anyone will do anything for DH I am thinking of sending him something at work, but he has to go to Vegas next week so he needs the spending money for that. They all hate him right now becasue the company has a thing they are pushing really hard and he has to ensure they implement it, and they really don't like it. He is caught in the middle so morale is down, I bet he gets nothing!

I got my boss at my FT job a balloon that said Happy Boss's Day and I had everyone in our dept sign the card. I have done it the past few years.

For my PT job boss, he is actually a friend and I am helping him out in his office. I got him a To Great Boss balloon. Boy is his head going to swell! :p

Wow tc you have a great job. Wish I could say the same about mine, my boss is a Priest. He leaves phone messages on my machine at all hours of the night, because that is when he thinks of them, scary huh.

He totally does nothing for nobody, the principal, DRE and myself. We all gave up and pretend it is just another day. I have personnaly never received a card, flowers, balloons, a bonus and I have been here over 10 years.

On Secretary's Day, the school children send me flowers, and e-mails and I am not even the school secretary just the parishes. At least they appreciate me.

For Christmas, I send him a family Christmas card with a certificate for gas and that's about it.

Thank you, I sent my former bosses whom I adored an ecard :)

Guess my staff forgot me just like I forgot my boss. Maybe I should give him a call.

Yes. All of the adminsitrative assistants and support staff provided lunch for the attorneys in our office. It was very nice and they appreciated it.

The big boss came over to me a few minutes ago and told me to let the support staff go home early today.

Everybody wins!!

Yeah, we gave our boss a Starbucks GC since we know he loves Starbucks.

We'll get something for him too on Christmas from his group. In return, he usually gets each one of us something for Christmas too.

It's a nice gesture all around and makes for a great work environment. We're very casual with everyone in our department and that makes for happy productive workers.
