Found out this week that my boss was terminated from our company. Nice guy and certainly unexpected by all us sales folks. I had made plans to rent his house in Kona, HI for the family in December instead of making our usual Home for the Holidays trip to Boardwalk.

The second thing to come to my mind after the shock of hearing the poor guy was fired was "Now we can't rent his house and I'll never get a standard view at the Boardwalk in December!" Only fellow DVC'ers would truely appreciate this sentiment!

I called first thing this morning and talked with a very nice member services CM by the name of Maude. When I said I wanted a standard 1 bdrm from Dec 16 - 23 she sighed and said "well, let's just try shall we?". We were both surprised when one room turned up. She said we had actually got the very last standard 1 bdrm. Yea! :cool1:

I have to say even though I'm sorry my boss got the axe, I'm actually happy that we're going back to Disney for the Holiday season rather than Hawaii. What was I thinking in the first place?????

It was meant to be! Congrats on snaring that standard 1 bedroom for a holiday trip.
P.S. Just got back from Kona yesterday. Hawaii has to be the second best place on earth.

Did you drive over to the volcano? I believe it's supposed to be pretty active right now. That was our main reason to go besides DD wanting to eat at Bubba Gumps!

Yes, we did the volcano trip. About a 2 mile walk from the end of the crater road to the flow, but worth it. Big Island has so many different terrains and vegetation in each of its quadrants.

Have you talked to your old boss?? Because just becasue he was fired doesnt mean he didnt want to do the trade....

And WTG on scoring Std view at BWV!

I'm betting he will likely go to work for our competition. That's the way it is with salespeople in my market. Once that happens, we can't communicate due to anti-trust issues. Very sad, since we are friends as much as co-workers, but, it happens too frequently.
