I have never watched fares from Boston to MCO before as I have always flown out of BDL/Hartford on Delta/Song. Hartford is far more convenient being only 45 minutes away and the ease of the smaller airport and cheaper to park.
HOWEVER I happened to check Boston to MCO for next July out of curiosity and found its showing a fare of $155 Delta/Song while Hartford is showing $280
IS that a good fare for BOS to MCO? What is it usually during the summer? Should I be jumping on it? I would never have thought about buying my air fares this early.....but the $155 seems so good to me ...... And $280 from Hartford......that is high......That difference would make it worth the inconvenience of driving to Boston. Does anyone know how low they went this past summer from either Boston or Hartford?

Any thoughts anyone?

$155 is very good from Boston.

I've always paid around $200 and anything under $200 is great. It can even go as high as $300!

I've paid $100 (very lucky to catch a AA sale), $172, $181, and $215 just to give you an idea.

Have you considered trying Southwest Airlines out of Providence? It might be easier to get to from Hartford and much less money. Parking at TFG airport was much less compared to Logan parking (and the cheapest Park & Go in East Boston). It's an hour south of Boston -- we are just 20 minutes from Logan) and we often choose to drive to Providence based on Southwest's great prices, parking, AND the overall ease of navigating the airport! Logan is just crazy right now with the Big Dig and the constant road changes.

Our last trip to MCO was $79 each way, non stop. It was just a three hour flight. So easy!

I would consider flying out of Providence but as for SW.....I'm told you can't get pre assigned seats and with my party of 11.....2 of which will be nervous 8 year olds and 2 of which will be very nervous adults whom have never flown.....we wanted assigned seats.

beattyfamily....you've got me thinking I should buy now :hyper:
American airline is also showing the same fare as Song.... $155.
Any advice on which is better? I have flown Delta many times .....always got to pick my seats....does AA have assigned seating?

Try JetBlue out of Boston, They have several 59.00 segments to MCO , non-stop and Direct TV in the seats for each. They offer reserved seating.

A good little airline. Just used them this weekend @ 59.00 each way.

$155 is VERY good. If it were me, I would go with Song, especially with nervous flyers in your group. All Song planes have individual TVs in the seat back in front of you, so you can watch TV all the way to FL. REALLY helps the time fly.

As far as JetBlue--great airline, some great prices, but they are only booking through May of 2005 right now. I still think the Song flights out of BOS for $155 are too good to pass up.

Logan is getting easier and easier to get too as well.

I'd book it too.

I've flown AA, Song and Jetblue to MCO and they were all good but I believe only Song and Jetblue had the TVs.

If you've decided you're goin outof Logan, then by all means go with either Song or JetBlue. IMO both have great seats (and assigned ones at that), individual entertainment consoles (TVs) on each seatback, rational and cheap pricing, good on-line sites and great in-flight service.

I expect that one of the reasons Song fares have gone so low in Boston is that JetBlue is competing fiercely on the Boston to Florida routes. Otherwise they'd be up at $280 like at BDL.

Then again, you might not want to dismiss SouthWest so quickly. It is cheap and easy to navigate and park at TF Green in Providence (PVD). Yeah, their "cattle call" seating policy is a little inconvenient, but hey, you're saving a ton of money on a very convenient flight. So the question becomes, how much is assigned seating worth to you? I would think with 11 ppl, a $20-$30 per ticket savings would really add up. And again, PVD is soooo much easier to get to.

(of course, we live within 15 miles of Logan and so have yet to be tempted by any other airport)

Good luck!

thanks for all your help :D

WOW just read rave reviews for jetblue....so its song now @$155 or wait 2 or 3 months until jetblue is booking for next July.....and Song could go up in the meantime

anyone got a crystal ball I could borrow :teeth:

one more question...do I need to worry about Delta's financial trouble's OR does that not even effect Song? so many questions

you guys are great ::yes::

We are going in December and even though we live 20 minutes from BDL we are flying out of BOS. We are going with my sister and her husband who live near BOS, but the flight on Song from BOS was only $135 round trip versus $280 out of BDL. It is worth it for us. There just doesn't seem any deals out of BDL.

WOW!!! $135
now I wonder if I should wait and see if they go lower :hyper:
I wonder how their rates will look when jetblue's fares come out for July
oh what to do ?

If Song goes lower, you can get a voucher for credit.

Seriously, as much as I LOVE Jet Blue--the $155 is too good a deal to pass up. I would book it ASAP.

I also would not worry too much at this point about Delta's financial issues. Most of the major players that are around are in, coming out of, or have been in some kind of bankruptcy protection.

Good Luck!

Oh--and PS--once you book. For sure keep watching Song to make sure the flights don't go down, but STOP looking at the others. You will only make yourself NUTS. (trust me, I know of what I speak  I did this LAST February vacation)

thanks Deb for the advice :D
I'm getting that feeling........you know.......the one that says ITS TIME :hyper: its time to buy....NOW!!! So as long as this feeling stays with me until the end of my work day here......I'll be buying today ::yes::

I'd book it too! $155 is really good and if you wait, you might not be lucky enough to get the $135 let alone the $155.

I agree with the other poster. Book now, and then keep checking with Song to see if it goes down and get a voucher if it does.

That $135 rate for Jetblue might be only certain, unpopular times too.

Good luck!

I DID IT!!! I bought them !! :bounce: :hyper: :bounce:
I didn't even wait for my work day to end!! :hyper:
I'm soooo excited.....I don't know why....I knew I was going anyway!! Just something about having them actually purchased...makes it more real!! :teeth:

Thanks guys for all your helpful advice!! ::yes::

$155 per person is a great fare. Prices out of BDL have not been good lately. For my December trip, it was cheaper to fly into Tampa and rent a van (party of six) then to fly R/T from BDL to MCO and use Mears to get to OKW.

I would second the use of PVD if the price is competitive. Green is an easy airport to get in and out of quickly.:earsboy:

I cannot speak to what the fare will be for Jet Blue from Bos to MCO come July 2205, but we just paid $155.00 r/t for our upcoming WDW trip from Bos to MCO via Jet Blue.

Also, if you do travel out of Logan there is a place you can park, and take the Logan Express to Logan Airport.
Framingham - Logan Express is located off the Massachusetts Turnpike Exit 13, between Route 9 and Route 30 on the Shoppers' World Mall property.
Parking is also available at this location. Rates effective 12/03: $11.00/day or $66.00/week
The Logan Express leaves Framinhgan every 1/2 hour beginning at 4:00 am through 11:00 pm weekdays, similar schedule on weekends.
You can check out the website:
http://www.massport.com/logan/getti_typeo_logan.html

If you do decide to leave from Bos, this may be a less expensive way to park than at the airport itself.
