Recently returned from DCL and used Sir Charles Limo out of Salem/Peabody. We had requested limo to and from and was told we couldn't have limo for return b/c they were using it for a wedding, but would pick us up in 10 pass. van. Well, driver showed up in an Escalade SUV - there are 5 of us and cruise luggage which is about twice as much as we brought for a DW vacation!!! He tells us to get in; he'll make it work. Stupidly, kids and I get in and he starts shoving luggage all around us - even tries to put a piece by his feet and hurts my daughter w/another piece! At this point, I am out of car and helping kids out. Driver starts tossing baggage onto sidewalk! Seriously, kids and I are load it onto the cart and head back into airport while DH calls limo company. Fortunately they had another sedan that was dropping off at airport shortly. After about 20 min wait, kids and I took sedan home while DH rode w/luggage in SUV.

I realize mistakes can happen, but my main complaint is with the nasty SUV driver - he should have taken one look at us and said, "Sorry, this isn't going to work. Let me call the limo company." Instead he was rude and wanted to drive in unsafe conditions!! So DH has to make the phone call to company and of course he was upset at this point and they were hardly apologetic and of course, charged us full price for return. We will not be using them again!!!

This is a typical case of a Limo company that is not even permitted at Orlando Internationalo Airport. I did check out the listing of companies that are permitted at Orlando. Sir Charles is not listed as permitted.

They probably took your information and then subbed out your ride to a company in Orlando. This is not a great situation.

I hope Orlando car service companies do not take the hit for this stupidity. My question is if you couldn't fit the luggage in a van, where did you fit it in a Limo. The passenger's compartment which isn't very safe either.

Sorry your trip ended that way and thanks for the heads up.

I can recommend Lugwigs out of Peabody if you need a car service in the future. We have used them for over 10 years, recommended by my very picky in laws! My BIL/SIL just used them at Thanksgiving when we all got together North of Boston.

I am still trying to figure out if they used a car service back to MCO or the DCL transportation. It is kind of confusing what type of service they used from DCL to MCO. Maybe they will clear it up.

The OP is pretty clear - on the way home from the cruise they landed at Boston/Logan and expected a 10 passenger van from the car service. The car service sent an SUV instead and it was too small. The SUV driver wasn't helpful so they called the car service who sent an additional car. The OP's DH rode in the SUV with the original driver and the luggage and the rest of the family rode in the sedan.

Apparently the car service wasn't an issue while in Orlando.

And here we have the reason I don't like car services... In MCO or anyplace!! Why is RUDE acceptable in this industry?

Sorry for any confusion. The issue was with the limo service in BOS upon our return - Sir Charles out of Peabody.

We used Tiffany in Orlando (to and from DCL) and they were fine - on time, clean limo, etc.

OP...not to make light of this...but it so reminds we of the Housewives of Orange County-when Vicki is going on a cruise...and they sent a minivan to pick up 6 adults w/cruise luggage, and she went ballistic...you must have been upset(I would be)....but at least the word is out.
