Borrowing, Waitlist Needs Fewer Points - Point Usage Question?

I am sure this has happened to people before so just wondering if a) this is possible and b) is it such a huge hassle you would never try it again or c) no big deal?

I have 200 points in our 2017 UY to use (100 banked from 2016 and 100 from the 2017 year). We are considering staying in a 1 bedroom somewhere that would use 207 - 240ish points so all of our available 2017 points plus borrowing some from 2018. However, where my kids really would love to stay is the Poly which currently does not have all nights available and of course only has studios. If I waitlist for the Poly at 7 months and it comes through it will be for fewer points - looks like it would be 147 points for the standard view for our week.

If that waitlist comes through will they automatically use the borrowed points first, followed by the banked points? Just to make the example numbers easy say my original 1 BR booking is 247 points. The waitlist comes through and I am now booked at the Poly with 147 points what I would want to happen is:

47 from 2018 borrowed year
100 from 2016 banked points
Leaving 100 from 2017 that I can bank into 2018

If it happens in that order automatically great or would I have to call and see about getting it switched? That scares me because I can just see all kinds of confusion in getting it setup correctly. The alternative is we can book now in a studio and just save the extra points so the waitlist is not an issue but the 1 BR would be nice.
 
If it isn't done correctly it isn't a big deal to contact MS to reallocate points. Just remember you must still be in your banking window and are at least 31 days out from check in when the wait list comes through in order to do this (so don't select a wait list that goes until 7 days from check in). We had a studio booked for family members for an upcoming trip that required borrowing points. They had to cancel unfortunately so I simply called MS and had them reallocate the borrowed points to our upcoming stay and free up current UY points that I can then bank into next year. It was no problem at all-when I checked my dashboard on line it was all correct.
 
Thank you for asking this question. I have a similar issue and was wondering the same thing! I'm glad to hear that Member Services can reallocate points if necessary.
