Hi Folks!

Weird question for you... We're going to BWV in December of this year... When I initially booked, there we're no 2BR-Standard's available for the first night (12/1/2003), but they had 2BR-Preferred's available.. The other nights I wanted were available in a 2BR-Standard that I needed, so I booked those, and then booked the Preferred view for the first night and waitlisted for the Standard view for the first night ...

MS called last week and we got the Standard view... So all is well, and we will be able to stay in the same room.. :bounce:

My question is... For me to book the entire trip, I had to borrow points from my 2004 UY.. Not a big deal.. But now that we have the 2BR-Standard, instead of the Preferred, I have 6 points left over.. (6 pts is the difference between the costs between a Standard and a Preferred view..)

I am fairly positive that I can't put the 6 pts back into the 2004 UY once I've borrowed them for 2003.. But can I have them apply these 6 pts as 2004 UY pts to the trip that I currently have booked, in order to free up 6 pts from 2003UY?? Then I could bank these 6 pts into 2004...

Or has anyone ever borrowed too much??

Hope I'm not too confusing here.. (I tried explaining the theory to my DW, but just got baffled looks...)

Thanks.. :D

mbhoxsie...you should be able to do what you described. As long as you are still within your banking deadlines, you should be able to apply the borrowed points first to your ressie, then bank any leftover 2003 use year points.

Cool...

Yeah... I should've mentioned that....

I have a June UY, and am well within my banking deadlines...

Now if I can only say this over the phones to MS without getting the newbies there confused...

They have told me just to ask for a "reallocation" and I have never had a problem. I've done similiar things several times

The main thing is to make sure that before you hang up with MS, you ask them to give you the status (after the ressie) of your 2003 and 2004 use year points. That way, there can be no doubt.

Also, it is good to get the confirmation number for each transaction. A banking transaction has a confirmation number, as does a ressie and a borrowing transaction. And last but not least, jot the name of the MS person down...it might help if your confirmation papers come and there is a mistake of some sort.

Good luck...and congrats on getting that Standard Room booking!
