Borrowing Question

I know I should be able to figure this out, but for some reason I can't.

I have one night booked at SSR in a 2 BD in Dec and waitlisted a BCV 2 BD, with the allowance to borrow points (need 6) from next year.

I want to book a room at our home resort (OKW) for next year, but am 12 points shy, so I know I need to borrow from 2024 for that trip. What I can't figure out is how to borrow 18 points from that use year so I can just leave the 6 points in 2023 to borrow in case. I tried a few different methods, but they all seem to want to just borrow 12 points.

Can this be done?

Book as much as the trip at OKW without any borrowing. Then book a second fake trip that will allow you to borrow the 18 you need..it doesn’t matter where or what..just try to get to the exact number.

Once borrowed, cancel the fake trip. Modify your real trip to get all the dates and you will end up with the 6 from 2023 left for them to borrow for your Dec trip.

It's kind of a roundabout method, but this will work:

1. Book a reservation that falls during your 2023 UY that requires 18 more points than you have. It can be any reservation at all, even a combination of reservations.
   • EXAMPLE: You have 100 points in your 2023 UY. You make a reservation or combination of reservations that total 118 points.
2. You borrow 18 points from 2024 to complete the above.
3. You cancel the reservation(s).
4. The 18 borrowed points remain in your 2023 UY.
5. Make the reservation that you actually wanted. It will use the 18 borrowed points first, leaving you with the 6 points from your 2023 UY untouched.
