We have an August use year (250 pts) My plan is to treat extended family in March 2015 for my big 60th birthday pixiedust:
This is where I get confused. I have already used all of our 2013 points (trip this month and also in March 2014)

Will I be able to borrow those 2015 points (sometime in 2014) to book a March 2015 trip? :confused3 I am thinking I would need to bank my 2014 points and then borrow 2015 pts?
Thank you in advance. I haven't borrowed points before so want to get things straight before doing so.

With an Aug UY, your UY runs from Aug 1 through July 31 each year; you have to look at these independently from the calender. And it doesn't matter when you MAKE the reservation - what UY points are available to bank, use and borrow are determined by the DATES of the actual reservation.

So on Aug 1 in 2014, you will be in your 2014 UY, which will run through July 31 2015. On Aug 1 in 2015 you will be in your 2015 UY.

For a trip in March 2015, those dates will fall into your 2014 UY. Don't bank those points since you'll be using current 2014 UY points for that trip.

You can then borrow from your 2015 UY for whatever additional points you need.
