Borrowing Question

After reading all of the threads of no availability anywhere I am starting to think I may need to book my trip at exactly 11 months out for next summer. Here is my dilemma. I have a Dec UY. I will need to borrow points from my Dec 08 UY in order to complete my reservation (June 21st - July 6th).

1. If something were to happen and I had to cancel would I have to use all of those points before Dec 08? This banking/borrowing thing really confuses me I guess I need to stop planning all of these trips and start saving so I can add on and not have this problem

2. I am thinking about trying to get a transfer from the board for my 1st week. My home resort is SSR. If I want to stay at BWV or OKW the 1st week can I get those points from a member who owns there and use the 11 month window?

1. Yes, you can't unborrow points, so they would expire on Nov 30, 2008.

2. You must have points for the resort you want to get that 11 month reservation, so you'd have to transfer points from another member who owns at BWV or OKW. You are limited to one transfer in or out a year, so make sure you get enough points from one member to make that reservation.

Thanks! That is what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure. Can a member rent from another member? I feel that a transfer would be safer but with the 1 per year rule it may be hard to get a smaller # of points transferred.

Sure, and if you have trouble getting someone to transfer points, renting may be a good option. Good luck!
