Borrowing pts/changing dates question

If we are scheduled to spend 5 nights at VWL immediately followed by some time at VB what would happen if we wanted to extend our stay at VWL?

Would any pts go into a holding account?

If all we do is extend our VWL trip and check-in to VB later than what we have booked, what happens when we call MS to do this?

If the points are the same and there is availability for what you'd like to do, everything will be fine- no problems-no holding account.

If there are any points left over from the changes then those points would go into a holding account if the changes were made 30 days or less in advance.

So, I can basically extend our stay at VWL and change the dates on the Vero reservation even if I borrowed some pts to make the reservation?

Also, what happens if people upgrade? If I have a 1br booked and decide a 2br would work better (and it's available). Do they actually have to "cancel" the first reservation-which was partially made with borrowed pts or do they just "adjust" the reservation?

If you have 6 nights booked and decide to cancel one of those nights then that amount of pts goes into a holding account, correct?

Basically if you are cancelling one reservations and making another for the same night, you would use the same points. As long as the last option was as many or more points than the previous, and you had the points available, you'd be all set. I think if you just drop off a day of your stay and you're already there with the reservation, you'd just lose the points.

Any room size change is actually cancelling one and making another though I doubt it would matter in the situation described. It matters when you are trying to drop from a 2 BR to a 1 BR if there is a wait list for what you're going to.
