Borrowing Points Question?

I have a trip booked for April and one for August. Had ressies for OKW (less points) but was on the waitlist for BCV, BWV, or VWL. Got VWL (more points). Since August trip that was previously booked used up my points, I had to borrow a few for April. Here's the question:

I know once you borrow points, you have to use them, but do I have to use them for this particular trip? If I have to cancel, can I transfer the borrowed points to the August trip as long as it's within my use year?

They will re-allocate points for you, so that you can free up current use year points that you may be able to bank into the next year, the year that you borrowed from. However, if you made a ressie using the home resort advantage, and want to substitute with non-home-resort points, they can only do that if there is still room available. I'm not sure if they actually have to cancel the original reservation and then rebook.

They will not automatically re-allocate the points unless enough days are still available so they can cancel and rebook.
