borrowing/OTU pt question

MS is closed, so I don't think I can do the one-time-use points, right? I can't do that online?

We have a stay coming up in September, and I wasn't able to get the first night when I booked. However, just now the night became available. I need 7 more points than I have, but I have already used all of next year's points (for a stay in January), and therefore have none available to borrow.

Is there a way for me to work around this?

Sorry, OTUP can only be purchased via phone call to MS, in the process of making a 7-month booking. I can't think of a way around it, if you don't have any points to borrow.

What is your UY? I just had to modify a reservation for next April to free up points that I could borrow into this year to add a night next week. So I freed up 2024 points that could be borrowed and then rebooked my April trip by borrowing a few 2025 points (April UY).

very muddy to me as a newer owner. but this was essentially what I was trying to see if it was possible. BUT. I have a Dec. UY. So I'm trying to book with 2022pts. I've used all of my 2023 pts for January. And I don't want to screw that Jan. trip up in any way whatsoever because it's sold out for those dates already, and I don't want to move resorts then.

Also, my banking deadline is in 9 days (for my 2 little points), so I'm REALLY hoping that I can re-find that Sept date again before then, as someone else has already scooped it up.

Yeah, ok, if you January dates are sold out, don't touch that one.

I did think of a solution…but you may not want to do this as it is multi step.

Book a random night in January for a room similar in point cost to the room you are booking. It will force you to borrow 2024 points.

Then cancel it. Go in to your January reservation, click modify and go all the way through the booking process but don’t change a thing,,..it will rebook it using those borrowed points with no chance of losing the room.

It will free up 2023 points which you can then borrow for the September night.
