Good morning! My use year is April, and, in making plans for this year, I'm borrowing April 2006 pretty heavily. We should still have enough 2006 points for one or two studio weeks, but borrowing makes me nervous. How does the "end" work out? From the little bit I understand, it isn't awful to be borrowed out anyway as the "end" falls in January 2042 or 2054, right?

I realize that this is bit of a goofy question, and I am comfortable admitting that I'm a bit anal rententive when it comes to keeping up with all this stuff. But for those of you who borrow quite a bit or think along the same lines--thanks for any feedback you can share!

I bank and borrow all the time. To be honest, it is no big deal to me. I plan my trips about two years in advance, decide how many points I need, and then decide if it is worth it to bank and or borrow.

Last year we spent 5 nights in the OKWest 1 bedroom and took the 7 day disney cruise for 4 - it cost me 1 1/2 years worth of points (I needed to borrow) but it was worth it. this year we'll spend 8 nights in an OKWest 1 bedroom and then bank the 20 or so odd points to next year.

I'm not going to worry about borrowning till we get to at least year 2038.

I wouldn't worry about it. Borrowing is within the established rules so you are doing nothing wrong. Personally, I'd rather be borrowed a few points into the next year rather than having to worry about banking.

The only thing to watch is if you have to cancel a trip, those borrowed points do not go back to their original use year. You could bank the current year points from the reservation if you are within the deadlines (and cancel more than 30 days before), but the borrowed points would stay in the use year they were borrowed into.
