Borrowed points issue

I sent this e-mail to member services, but it keeps getting returned as undeliverable. Maybe somebody here can answer?

I borrowed points for my June vacation. I booked a 2 BR and a studio at the Beach Club in June. My use year is August, and I had 185 points left this year. The total June package was 270 points.

It nows appears that we may only need the 2BR. What are my options? I know I can not return the borrowed points to their use year, but can I still cancel the studio reservation and use the points at another time before Aug 1? Can I let someone else use the points and I can make the reservation in their name?

What did you use as the email address for Member Services? They changed it a year or so ago. The correct address is:

members@disneyvacationclub.com


Now, if I'm reading your post correctly, your June trip used a total of 270 points, 85 of which are borrowed.

Assuming that the other 185 points are for the current use year (weren't banked from the year before), you should be able to bank 85 of them to your next use year and use the 85 borrowed points towards your June trip.

Just remember, that if you do that, you can't get those 85 points back into the current use year if your plans change again (although you CAN borrow more points from next year if you have them), and you MUST use those banked points by July 31, 2004.

Break my vacation down like this: 185 pts avail in 2002. 230 avail on Aug 1. 2 BR = 200 pts, studio = 70 points.

I still need to borrow for the 2 BR alone, so all 70 pts for the studio are borrowed. I know they can not be returned. I can't borrow if points are available, so that game won't work. Can I just sell them if they are used by Aug 1, or do I need to use this particular ressie?

After you cancel the studio, ask MS to reallocate the points so that all of the borrowed points are used for the 2 bedroom reservation, if that is a trip you are sure you will take. Then bank the current year points into 2003. With an August use year, you have until 1/31/2003 to bank up to 100% of your points and until April 30 to bank up to 50% of your points.

Forgot to add that if you do not bank the "extra" points, they will be returned to your current use year and expire at tthe end of your current use year (7/31/2002) if they are not used before then. You can use them for a trip before the end of your use year and you may make a reservation for someone else's trip as long as it occurs prior to the end of your use year.
