I was going to post here about how things have been lately, it would have been extremely long!
Here's the short of it:
My uncle Joe finally went home after 6 months or so of hospital and nursing home rehabilitation. He's still having difficulties though, but he has to gain more strength before they can do any other operation on him....
My MIL (Judy) is still in the hospital. She's had many difficulties, but I believe the main one was her calostamy (sp?) had separated and was basically poisoning her. After they found that and started dealing with it, she gained quite a bit of strength and was able to be moved to the rehab facility at the hospital. Unfortunately, they had to move her back to a regular floor because they found she has an infection somewhere and had to give her antibiotics...
The kids and I have been planning on visiting Thurs/Fri this week if she was up to it. She says she's still up to it, but unfortunately it will only be my dd and me. ds has a sore throat and is now running a fever :sad2: (and dh has WAY too many services to be ready for this weekend!) I also found out yesterday that my SIS left her husband. Her and my niece are now living with grandma, and it looks as though it may be for the long haul...
OK, well this got long even despite my attempt to keep it short. Please pray as God leads you in these situations. It's been a difficult few months. :(

Wow, what a full plate!
Blessings & prayers to you & your family...

Also glad to hear the good news about Jonah!

Happy Easter to you all! :cloud9:

He is Risen!

Hallelujah!!!!

Hope you have a great day celebrating the rising of our Saviour!

He is risen INDEED! ::yes::

Thank you Jesus for bearing my sins!
Thank you Father for the empty tomb!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er his foes!
He arose a Victor o'er the dark domain
and He lives forever with His saints to reign...

... He arose!
................. He Arose!
................................ Hallelujah, CHRIST AROSE!

Hallelujah!

Early morning service starts the day off perfectly! Thank God we live in a nation where we can freely celebrate our Lord!

Yes!
The kids just finished their Ressurection egg hunt, and we went through the story. Do any of you do that? It is great.

Now we are are eating, getting ready for church.
Have a great day!

Christ the Lord is risen today! Alleluia!

Happy Resurrection Sunday. Our church had one service last night and 3 today. Our Deaf Ministry was asked to go on Saturday night to make room for visitors. WE had about 25 deaf people. Many were new to the church brought by a new family who have only come twice but were active in their church in Jacksonville. They were very intent on the sermon and seems to be very into it. At the end of the service our preacher had people cross a bridge made from a cross to Jesus (actor) Our 2 children (1 deaf, 1 CODA) literally dragged their Daddys across. Then the preacher gave the invitation and both girls went forward to accept Christ. WOW! I was blown away. These 2 babies have been brought up in deaf Christian homes but still they are 6 and 5. So I went with them to interpret ( I wish we had had another interpreter there because the deaf group lost interpreting for the end of the service). Mommy (deaf) also went with us. They will take a special newcomers class for children to help them understand their decision before baptism. After th father came and hugged me and thanked me. I literally had goose bumps. What a wonderful experience. Most deaf kids because of language don't accept Christ at a young age.

Ok I just watched Michael W Smith sing "Above All" and have tears running down my face. That song always gets me. Just the fact Jesus gave up everything for me. WOW! Incredible.

 Happy Easter!
Praise God we live in a free country protected by the blood of Jesus and our military who are willing to guard us as well. This moring as we sang The Blood that Jesus shed for me was a beautiful reminder of God's love, mercy and grace.

Praise God! What wonderful examples of childlike faith--leading their fathers across the cross bridge. How wonderful for these children to get to grow up in a relationship with the Lord.

I got a set of those last year on clearance and we did them today too. Really neat way to give the kids something hands on. We had them open the eggs and tell why they thought that item was in there. Very cool.

Our kids don't get to do any of those Easter-y kinds of things until after around 12/12:30 and they are SO awesome about it. Not a bit of whining. DH plays and sings for all three services on Easter and we don't want to do anything without him, so we keep ourselves busy at church as well. This year DD was in a short drama during service and she did such an awesome job. It was really moving seeing my own little princess up there talking about Jesus' sacrifice.

God bless and happy Easter!!

I made them with my grade 5 Sunday School class a few years ago, that was neat for the kids that didn't have them.
My kids also each have a set that we made.
I hide those on Easter morning, they search for them until they each have the complete set, then we go through the story with each of them taking turns. When my son was about 4 he knew the whole story, so that was cool!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! It is amazing what the Lord has done for us!

Can someone tell me some more about the Resurrection eggs?

I bought a pack of 12 of those colored plastic eggs, and filled them with this stuff. Then I put them in an egg carton, and glued the explanation/description on the lid.

Egg 1-SILVER COINS represent the 30 pieces of silver Judas recieved for betraying Jesus (Matt 26:14-16)

Egg 2- COMMUNION CUP AND FISH represent the broken body and shed blood of Jesus (Matt 26:26-29)

Egg 3- THORNS represent the crown of thorns Jesus was forced to wear (Matt 27:29)

Egg 4-TOOTHPICK CROSS represent the cross Jesus was crucified on (Matt 27:32-37)

Egg 5-BLOOD repesents the blood spilled from Jesus' body (Matt 27:30, John 19:34)

Egg 6-PURPLE CLOTH represents royalty, the robe that was taken off Jesus. (Matt 27:28-31)

Egg 7- DICE represents the lots the soldiers cast for Jesus' clothes (Matt 27:35)

Egg 8- GAUZE represents the grave clothes (Matt 27:59)

Egg 9-STONE represents the stone that covered the entrance of the tomb (Matt 27:60)

Egg 10- SOLDIER represents the guards that were posted outside the tomb (Matt 27:62-66)

Egg 11- ANGEL represents the angel that appeared to Mary and Mary and Jesus' tomb, proclaiming that Jesus is Risen! (Matt 28:2-7)

Egg 12-COTTON BALL AND STAR represent heaven, where Jesus is now! (cotton ball for cloud)(Luke 24:51)

1-I used a quarter and nickel for #1, to equal the 30 cents.
2-I used an actual communion cup that I brought home from church, and a goldfish cracker, since that is what our church uses for 'the body'. I painted the inside of the cup red.
3-I used real thorns
4-I glued two toothpicks together to make a cross. I put a spot of red paint where the hands and feet would have been
5-I painted the inside of the egg red. (used yellow egg so it would show up good)
6-I used a piece of purple felt
7-Just a dice
8-A piece of gauze
9-Just a round flat stone
10-A little toy soldier
11-A little plastic angel I found in the craft section. Or could use a picture of an angel, that is what I had until I found the plastic one.
12-Cotton ball and a plastic glow in the dark star.

I have seen other versions, but this is the one I liked the best.

It is lots of fun to do with kids. I put mine out before Easter, and my son looks at it every day without fail. He takes them apart, puts them back together, over and over again. A good lesson, and fun too!!

Our eggs were a little different than Albertan Moms. I got them at Walmart last year.

One that was different was we had a nail, not blood. We also had a spear, not a soldier. And one of ours was empty to represent the empty tomb. No purple cloth either, but I don't remember what we did have that was different. I love the idea of making a set of them with the kids. That sounds like a great activity.
