someone I know bought on, all 7 pounds and he isnt going to get bigger then 14-15 pounds. Now I love my cat but thei dog put her head on my shoulder and it was love at first sight, She paid a grand for him, which i am not willing to do but I wanna know if anyone has a dog like this and what are they like, personality, I want one? :D

LOL, I don't know of anyone off hand, but do your research. :) BTW, a lot of doggies are like that. Occassionally my labx will put her head on your shoulders and lean into you. It's her version of a hug. :)

All terriers are "vermin hunters" so they tend to be very smart and tenacious. Of the smaller terriers, the border is definitely one I can highly reccomend. I breed Airedales (the largest terrier), so I don't always appreciate some of the smaller terriers that tend to be hard to house train etc, but Borders are more like little Airedales in their attitude and trainability. I highly reccomend them.

I don't have a Boston Terrier, but I do have a Papillon. He is 5 months old right now and weighs 4 1/2 pounds. The vet will be surprised if he gets over 8 lbs. I did my research on little dogs because I knew our next dog was going to be a little dog. After all my research, I found that this breed is very loyal to its family, doesn't bark (except when the doorbell rings, which is good!), is fantastic with children, and is exceptionally smart.

He did cost a lot of money, but in the 2 months we have had him, he has brought us so much joy and laughter! And, the best part is, because he is so smart, he's already potty trained!!!

Good luck to you! Make sure to do your research to make sure you are getting the right breed!

Here's a picture of this breed for your information!

LOL! That's because a lot of folks misspell the word "terrier" and some folks think all terriers are terrors!:teeth:

We looked into getting a Border Terrier (I also love Boston Terriers but they are not good with my allergies!). After waiting a year looking for puppies, rescues, etc, we ended up getting a Miniature Schnauzer. We love her. In our area Borders are very hard to find.

The one thing I remember about the Borders is that they are jumpers and require lots of exercise and room to run - very athletic. Terriers in general require lots of attention and are very high energy little dogs.

I babysit my friend's Terrier "Scout" and that little thing TERRORIZES my cats!! Our dog is big and lumbering and definitley NOT a jumper. So the cat's normal "safe" places don't work!!! Scout hunts those cats ALL WEEK LONG!

Do your research. Check AKC breed info sights to find out more information about Border Terriers. Also, if you are in an area that hosts a regional dog show, attend that and talk to breeders of borders. People who love their breed will almost always tell you the good with the bad. They want to make sure the dogs find good homes. Also be sure to check out what types of illnesses and diseases these dogs are more susceptable to.

Are you willing to adopt an older dog? Or a border terrier mix? You might want to check and see if there are any Border Terrier rescue groups in your region and look on petfinder.org. Also let your local Humane Societies and SPCA groups know your interest. Sometimes it takes several months to locate a pet in these ways, but I also know reputable breeders who have puppy waiting lists that are two years long.

Happy research. Borders are cuties.

Don't overlook Border Terrier rescue. You can probably find info on the parent club web site.

Thank you everyone, I am going to start my research tomorrow, I appreciate all the information. :D

He's the cutest thing! He weighs 20 lbs but he isn't fat. The vet said that he was 'tall'
