We're leaving for Buffalo tomorrow, but I heard on the news last night that there may be extra delays due to heavier cross-border shopping (with the dollar being almost at par).

Here ya go! Last weekend was a long weekend and I know the waits were over 1hr at the border. In addition the QEW will be closed through St. Catherines from midnight Saturday to 10:00AM Sunday morning for construction.

We typically take the QEW towards Niagara then cross at the Rainbow Bridge. So does that mean the QEW will be closed for us (our route)?

Oh wait nevermind, we're planning to leave around 2PM tomorrow... so the QEW will be open. Phew.

Also the NFBC traffic update line: 1-800-715-6722. We usually call this number when we are on the Q.E.W. around St Catherines to determine which bridge to take.
