I know this isn't the context it was used in the movie- but working with a lot of barely out of college people, I hear this word most used in the context of getting drunk, ex. "I got soooooooooo ******** last night, I had a horrible hangover this morning."

This is disturbing to me. I have two education degrees, one in special also. It seems unprofessional at best to use the word "********" to describe something you found stupid and offensive. At worst, it is insensitive.

This is a message board. It's not real life. I would never use the word in that context anywhere where it would possibly offend somebody. In fact, it's pretty darn difficult to get through a day in this country anymore without offending somebody. As R.Rayford dubbed it, we are "The United States of the Offended." Hopefully all of us here are able to take it in the spirit it is intended. Sorry to have been unprofessional and insensitive in your opinion.

I believe both definitions could apply to this movie since I kept expecting the movie to "develop" a plot, and for Sasha Baron Cohan to develop some dialogue that would be based on something intelligent rather than potty humor

I must be an ingrate. I watched it yesterday and thought it was hysterical.

I think it's a movie that you must take very seriously. NOT!

DH and I watched "Borat" last night. All I can say is, "Huh?" I thought that was the most ******** and unfunny waste of film I've had the misfortune to see in a long time. There was one scene I thought was funny (when he hangs out with the "homeys" and tries to be black), but the rest ranged from boring to embarassing. You can bet there will be a "Borat 2" since I think it did pretty well at the box office, which says a lot about our pop culture

Anybody else seen it? What did you think?

The first 5 minutes when he was in his village and was introducing his mother and sister were funny. After that it went downhill.

I turned it off after 20 minutes.

It was a really stupid movie.

I'm a huge fan of Da Ali G show on HBO and own the series on DVD. However, I didn't find the movie nearly as good as the Borat segments on the TV show. As the storyline progressed, I wanted to see less interaction with his "producer" and more "interviews", like the dinner party with the minister or the sit-down with the feminists...now that's classic Borat! I hear Sasha Cohen's working on a new movie with his Bruno character...hopefully, they'll do it justice!

I caught an episode of his HBO show the other day for the first time. It was the one were he was pretending to be gay and "interviewing" a minister. He offered him a lap dance. He also "interviewed" Darryl Gates (LAPD police commissioner). I don't like these "sandbag" or "false pretense" type interviews. It makes me feel uncomfortable for the person being interviewed.

I have Borat in my NF queue and I will attempt to watch it.

DH and I watched this last night and we both thought it was exteremely funny! Some scenes were vulgar and some were just plain????. But, overall, we laughed alot and were still talking about this morning.

Question, were these people actually unaware of what was really going on? My DH thought they were all in the "joke", but I thought it was legit and that no one even knew who Sasha was before this movie. I do find it hard to believe though that Lynell would travel back to Kackistan and be his wife??? Also, do you think Pamela knew what was going on?

I think it was a little of both. People like Pamela were in on it IMO, the a guy like the rodeo official was not.

I wonder if anyone in the movie watched it and changed their ways? The rodeo official just appalled me...wanting to hang the gays! My DH was actually thinking of transferring to Tx before this movie, he has now changed his mind!

Just one more comment, did anyone happen to notice the black screen in the bedroom scene......it was awfully long!

It is maybe the funniest movie of all time. That being said it's not as good as Da Ali G show which is absolutely freakin hysterical.

Among my favorite parts is when he asks the UN tourguide if it is fair for Michael Jordan to get his own country just because he's a great "sportsman." And when he asked the former general if he would have switched sides in the "Vietnams" war for a "fousand dohllas a week, not a year, a week."

I've mentioned this in another Borat thread, but he did an interview (not in character...which is rare) with Terry Gross. Really interesting stuff. Anyhow, the only person who was in on the joke (outside production) was Pamala Anderson. No one else at the convention knew either.
