Boquet help needed

I posted this in my PJ that nobody's reading so I thought I'd post here, too.

Besides DF's family's negativity toward our wedding location, little has caused me as much stress as flowers, specifically my bouquet. Just when I think I've decided, I see something else. My sister has commented that the internet is my enemy when it comes to planning this wedding because there is just too much out there.

Anyway, I am considering each of these bouquets. Any thoughts?







I don't like the china berries in this one.

I love calla lilies; I'm just not sure that they will go with my dress.

This is my dress except I will wear a white sash for the ceremony and a dark purple sash for the day's other events.

Any thoughts on which bouquet?

I my opinion the calla lillies will go with your dress very well. I love the first then the third bouquets in your original post.

I think they're all pretty but I like the 2nd one best because it has such a variety of color and texture. I think the calla lillies look really pretty against your dress.

Thanks, ladies! I think I'm torn between the second and third ones. I like the second one for the reasons mentioned: it has different flowers, lots of color and texture (plus it does have calla lilies). I like the third one because of all the calla lilies.

I'd go the second one then, you could ask for a couple of extra calla lillies to be included if you want.

Or you could just get a price on both and let that make the decision for you

I definitely like the 2nd bouquet. and like a previous poster suggested - ask for a few calla lilies to be added!

The second one ('Royal Court' by FTD) is my favorite of the combo it seems you are going for. I often get orders for this at my flower shop and it really is gorgeous in person! Also remember, that in person things have a different look/feel to them. The roses and lisianthus in the Royal Court bouquet are very luxurious and soft. The callas bring in a feeling of structure. So, there is a really nice balance of texture and color! ....and I think it might be a sign that it is called 'Royal Court'...sounds very Disney to me (another reason I love making it for my local brides!!)

I also love the calla lilies but the second one gives you a lot of choices for your DF's boutonnière and any additional bouquets/flowers you might order. Flowers get expensive quick and when you have so many choices, you might be able to mix and match to keep the overall price more in line with your budget.

I love the 2nd bouquet but I am unsure how well lisianthus hold up in the Florida heat. I'm a florist too and I know that in a hot british summer we used to tyr and disuade brides from picking this flower as they son't have the staying power as roses and callas do once they are out of water. Extra callas would look beautiful with your dress.

I didn't read when your wedding is, so if it's in the middle of summer, then YIKES, lisi is a delicate flower and will most likely be out of the question like the above poster said!! Virginia has very humid summers - not as bad as Florida, but still very humid, which we have to consider when helping a bride select their flowers. I have NEVER had a complaint about lisi wilting on even the hottest/most humid days here in Virginia. Flowers don't like heat PERIOD. But, anything with a very soft/delicate look to them, you can pretty much tell it won't last long out in the heat!! I know DFTW Florists are very particular about what they allow you to carry in your bouquet - they are in a way paranoid. They really only allow flowers that have pretty much no chance of being bruised or even possibly wilting - and things they can make a few days early. I am a shop owner, and it's a 'small business', so we are able to put in extra energy and care into getting people what they want, even if that means risking re-doing a bouquet last minute because something wilted. So, they (DFTW) might say an absolute NO to lisianthus But, ask them and they know their weather the best (better than any of us in other states/countries), and they have their own rules. I made a bouquet for a bride for a wedding this past July and it ended up being the most humid day of the year so far in Virginia - and it was absolutely gorgeous all day long and she had an outdoor ceremony!!

Make sure to talk to their florist first and see what flower options you have in your wedding colors - such as what we are talking about here: "Is lisianthus an option?" Good luck!

My vote is for the calla lilies bouquet, it is really pretty and I think it will go just fine with your dress. I love the idea of switching the sash color!

Thanks so much to everyone who replied to my plea for help! I really appreciate it. Also, I know nothing about flowers, so the info about lisianthus was really helpful. Looks like I will probably go with #3 then!
